I plan on going back to work when LO is about 7 months old. I would like to have someone come to my home and take care of him between the hours of 7- 4 Monday through Friday. Is $10 per hour ($450 per week) too little?
Start researching your area. We would be paying probably in the $12/hr range for 1 child plus another $2/hr for any additional. We send DS to a small daycare though (4 kids) and pay $250/wk.

Check your area, you can use the tools on Care.com to give you a better idea of what caretakers are looking to make. Here in TX I pay $12/hr for 1 child and light housekeeping.

depends on where you live. I am an experienced nanny and ask for $12/hr starting rate. I did take a position with a family once and they paid a little bit less (it was a great match so I took it) They offered me extra sick and vacation time to make up for the difference, something to keep in mind. Im sure you will be able to find someone GL
We do a nanny share with our neighbors. They have 3 kids and we have a 5 month old baby. We pay $250/week and are in the Cleveland area. That's about the same as a highly rated daycare in our area.
I live in NJ, and you're going to be hard-pressed to find an experienced nanny for $10 an hour. Teens get that for babysitting. The range for a nanny is really $13-$15 an hour here. We pay $650 a week for approximately 47.5 hours.
Re: How much should I expect to pay?
HOLY COW! I pay $80.00 a week!!!

Our nanny started with us at $10/hr.
My thoughts exactly!
