POLL: "wait until the doctor is back"

Apparently my biopsy (from my colopscopy) results just came in yesterday and since my Dr is out until next week, I'm supposed to wait until she can discuss them with me then.  The nurses have always given me lab results before over the phone.[Poll]

BFP 12.20.2010 :: missed m/c 1/2011 around 8 weeks
BFP @ 9dpo 5.24.2011 :: missed m/c 6/2011 around 7 weeks
positive for ANAs (1:40) with a speckled pattern
MTHFR c677t mutation (heterozygous)
*folic acid, baby asprin, Prometrium, acupuncture, Lovenox*
BFP @ 9dpo 2.1.2012 || HCG = 8 : Progesterone = 19.2
2nd HCG @ 11dpo = 40 || 3rd HCG @ 21dpo = over 5000!

    A lot of times they won't release the results until the doctor has had a chance to review them - good or bad.

    Would they not tell you just what it said (literally), without interpreting it for you?

    I think it depends on the office's "relationship" with you.  If you are a long time patient and know the nurses I'd be worried they aren't telling you at least basically what is going on.  But if it's a new doc and they don't know who the heck you are then I think it's standard protocol.

    Biopsy results can be difficult to interpret (not just normal or abnormal) so I wouldn't be too suprised they wouldn't give you the results.

    I've been in the office enough this past year that the nurses know me relatively well. I didn't ask to get the results anyway, though maybe I should have. I'm sorta hoping it'll be moot because I'll get a miracle BFP (not likely) and then can't get treatment for whatever it is. Going to try not to think about it and just enjoy the weekend. I just really want 2012 to not start out with bad news!

    Worry gets you nowhere. So attempt to keep your mind off it and when it pops into your mind, look at yourself in a mirror if possible and say "It's no use worrying over it until I know what's going on!". Then move on.

    Or you'll give yourself an ulcer!

    Few medical practices give ANY results over the phone anymore.
