Snoangel-

Had my 25wk appt today and my boys are at 1lb15oz and 2lb1oz which puts them in the 66 and 69th %.  According to the babycenter.com email I got this week, babies at 25 wks on average should be 1 1/2 lbs, so I guess I'm just carrying chubby babies LOL. Would eating more in the next few days help get their abdomens bigger? Hopefully the cord flows are good.

  • If it's an issue with me then possibly. If it's an issue with them probably not. They are still growing. though just at a slower rate especially her, he is still in normal range. I am eating a ton of protein to see if it helps though!!  Abdomens are measuring small but everything else was pretty much on schedule. She's been more petite all along I think. I had a donor though also who came from a family with very small stature (dad and granddads 5'7" and under and she was 105lbs and 5'2") so that is another thing that could play into this.Next appointment will give us more info (next Friday). Hopefully they both continue to grow even if slow that's all I hope for!! I want them over 2lbs a piece and over 28 weeks. I will be getting steroid shots also. I am dealing with a hospital with a level 3 NICU and I talked to one of  my nurse friends yesterday that works in L&D there and she says although it will be a bumpy road if they get them over 28 (which is a high possibility) they should do well. They deal with a lot of IUGR babies and babies a lot smaller than 2lbs so we are in a good place! I'm happy your babies are doing well!! There is a difference obviously but it's not so huge as I would have thought!! I think again the abdomen measurements are playing a big part in this but again their other "parts" are normal. My boys head is in the 63 percentile and hers was 37th.

Has the dr mentioned cutting back at work or anything? Between the steriod shots and being over 2lbs/28 wks I'm sure their bellies will have plenty of time to catch up to the rest of their parts :)
