I ended up having sex days before my 16 birthday. All of my friends had already had sex or had been active for years. We were also in a small, private Baptist school so it was a largely rebellious thing. I can't speak for the public school's ratio by age.
Anyhow, sex didn't become frequent or even particularly fun until I was closer to 18. I wish I had waited.
Once my parents caught wind of sexual activity, I was put on Depo-Provera so chances of pregnancy were pretty slim until adult-hood.
I was convinced i would be a virgin until i was married until one day in high school i saw this boy and just KNEW he was going to be the one- I am very weird in that way.... i wanted to wait until I was 16- began dating him at 15.
As a freshman in high school i was dumped bcz i was too 'prude' how was i supposed to know i was supposed to give a bj until he... well u know LOL.
My little sister is 14... she has been having sex for months now. I FINALLy convinced her to get on BC with threatening to tell her mother (we are half sibs). It makes me sad...... our youth are so far beyond their age it just doesn't seem fair.
Taken from me... way too young.
When I actually decided to have my first sexual experience on my own terms...I was 19... and I still thought that was too early ...haha

but this poll's silver lining is the blatant need to have the talk at age 10. I would have probably assumed 15 or 16, but that looks a bit too late.
<-----------------18 year old prom statistic! I was pretty naive before then. I actually thought a blow job was something you got at the hair salon until I was about 15 and one of my friends explained what it was.
The middle school I went to there were usually 2 or 3 pregnant girls usually 7th graders each year. It's sad, but it happens alot I guess now a days!
Lol, I'm so glad there were others. I never knew why everyone cheered and yelled on the bus as we passed mile marker 69 on trips. Had to ask my best friend.
It's a shame how many of us are out there...They say one in four...well, in my group of friends we have about 6 girls and its happened to 5 of us....I think one in four will report it. Just breaks my heart how frequently it happens.
Okay, so NOBODY actually chose to have sex in that bracket. 2 "oops, I meant I got my period" and 1 not by choice. Ok, feeling a bit better about parenting a kid in this millenium now, as far as 11 years old not being sexually prevalent.
Alright, I'll fess up here. Not proud of this AT ALL. But I had sex by choice at 13. To a loser guy who I thought at the time was the coolest guy. I went through this rebel phase in 8th grade, starting drinking, smoked pot, etc... and sex was one of those things. It wasn't multiple partners, just one, but I did it. I did have a good sense to get birth control before from planned parenthood and didn't need my parent's consent. Therefore, didn't think I needed my parent's consent to have sex either. I thought I was a complete grown up at that age.
