  Like PP said - each practice is different with U/S.  Mine does one at 7-8 weeks because they want to be sure the baby is in the correct spot.  Others only give you your 20 week u/s.  Ask at your first appointment.

  You can get the optional NT scan at 12 weeks. I love my OB and wouldn't think of going anywhere else.
  

  Some insurances don't cover multiple scans either, just an FYI. Its quite common to not have a u/s until the second tri.

  haha - pregnancy & motherhood have definitely made me lose my marbles.  And my memory.  I now say I'm an excellent secret keeper because I probably won't remember what you told me five minutes later.

  Well this is my first pregnancy but I'm sure just the family I had growing up was enough to make me lose my marbles.  Or maybe it was trying to help raise my little brother at the age of 14 (he was about 9 and my parents both worked a lot)!

  With my daughter my first wasn't until 12 weeks. This time I will have one at 6 1/2 weeks because I had a mc earlier this year.

  Due to some spotting, I did have one with DS at 6 weeks, some days (I think 5, bit totally do not remember exactly). This time around, I will have one at 8 weeks w/first appt.
