When I can tell ds is getting tired, rubbing his eyes, and a blank stare, I put him in his swing. Sometimes he goes to sleep but sometimes he lets out this wimper cry that can get pretty loud but when I go over to him his eys are either closed or almost closed. If I pick him up he is awake but if I watch him for a minute he falls asleep. Its like he is fighting sleep by crying but he is falling asleep. Do you think he needs to let off energy first by crying? I dont like when he fusses or lets out the random loud cry but he is obviously falling asleep.
Re: Crying while falling asleep
I've done this but he only likes to be rocked to sleep at night, during the day he just stays awake, till I put him down in the swing. Unless I am feeding him them he will be rocked to sleep as I am burping him.
DD does this too! I've put her down, and then left the room only to hear her (weakly) cry a bit, but by the time I get back-and we're talking seconds, here-she's out like a light.
I think she's just letting out a little bit of steam or stress. I don't consider it CIO (I didn't use CIO with DS, and I don't plan to with DD either), since I don't think there's anything I can do about it.
I was a bit concerned at first, too, but now I think it's just how she falls asleep.
