I want to junk punch my coworker

I am not sure if this is pregnancy hormones talking or not, but he talks under his breath ALL day and I have just had enough of it. We share a smaller space (his chair is less than 3ft from mine) so you'd think he'd shut his freaking trap but apparently that is too much to ask.

Time to dial up Pandora and throw on the headphones. Again.

Re: I want to junk punch my coworker

  • If he mutters under his breath about you, I'd call him out on it.  Say you'd prefer he just say what he wants to instead of muttering about it.  Or if it's really distracting, can you tell HR about it?

    Enjoy the pandora. :)

It's not about me (I would not tolerate that). It's just gibberish. Like what he's reading, or saying "that's so crazy" OVER and OVER and OVER again.

  • Ugh my coworker does the same thing and I can also hear the tinny sound of her headphones all day. I know I sound like a real b***h but the worst I when she eats lunch. When I hear her chewing it's like nails on a chalkboard. I don't even think she's loud, I think I'm just SUPER sensitive to it lately.

  • "junk punch" might just be my new favorite phrase.

Does he know he mutters loud enough for you to hear him?  You could confront him about it with something soft like "I don't know if you know this, but I can hear you when you are commenting to yourself about something you are reading.  I appreciate that it is interesting to you, but every time it breaks my concentration, and then I struggle to refocus on what I was doing.  I'd appreciate it if you could keep it to yourself.  Thanks."

I could say that... and it would probably be received with a look of shock, since I doubt he knows he does it. But the idea of junk punching him just gives me SO much more satisfaction. :)

I'd have to wait until someone stood up to junk punch them.  Leaning over to do it right now would be too much effort.  Heck, there has been a stapler sitting on the floor next to my desk for the past week that I can't even be bothered to lean down and pick up.
