Baby Names

Reagan, Raegan, or Reaghan??

My dh and I have decided on the name Reagan for our little girl due in March.  I am looking for opinions on which spelling to go with. I know a lot of people will prefer the original Reagan, but are there any opinions on Raegan or Reaghan?? I have seen it spelled each way. I am also wondering opinions on middle name choices, which are

Reagan Marie --late grandmother's middle name

Reagan Noelle--dh loves this mn

Reagan Elizabeth--form of my mother's mn

Reagan Jillene--this is my mn

Any and all opinions are welcome, even those who don't care for any form of Reagan. Thanks in advance.

Re: Reagan, Raegan, or Reaghan??

  • I don't know why you'd make the spelling more complicated than it needs to be.  I love the name.  Go with Reagan.  I am very anti unusual spellings.

As for the middle name, they are all nice and seem to all have a special meaning.

  • I have a friend named Reagan, and she spells it the traditional way which I prefer as well. The other spellings look kinda weird and make it unnecessarily complicated. As for middle names, I think Reagan Noelle sounds the best.
  • I don't care for the name.

But I'm in the camp that says you should always make things easy for your child. No need to use a jacked up spelling. Like, seriously. There is no good reason.

  •  I think you should spell it  Reaghan it' s better for a girl . I love Ronald but this is your daughters name and a unique spelling would be better.
  • Reagan Marie was one of the names I had picked out for my lo.

  • I'm of the opinion don't make an atypical name even worse with a jacked up spelling.  Go with Reagan..please.

I like all of your MN's.  Marie is a bit blah but it's nice to honor your grandmother.  Elizabeth is always a good option, very classic and pretty. Noelle is quickly becoming one of my absolute favorite middle names and Jillene would be a nice way to connect to you.

  • Im a lover of unique spellings so I say go with Reaghan its not too unique feminine and pretty as for the middle name I like Elizabeth

  • The only spelling that makes sense to me is Raegan. I know the last name is Reagan. I'm honestly not sure. I don't like it with the h. I prefer Elizabeth as the mn.

  • Don't over-complicate it. Use Reagan. (Reaghan is just awful...it looks more like an antibiotic than a name.)

All your mn choices are fine, but I think I like Noelle the best. I think a name like Reagan needs a frilly middle name.

  • Reagan Noelle looks like a winner to me.
  • Reagan is how we'll spell it if it's the final one....currently the front-runner. Middle names are an issue, but we have narrowed it to...

    Reagan Elizabeth

    Reagan Camille

Reagan Nicholle (weird spelling, but it's after family member)

    All are family names....

  • I'm assuming you're pronouncing it Ray-gan...like the president?

    I know a Reagan and a Regan...both pronounced Ree-gan. We're in Canada.

So, I would probably want to spell it Raegan if I wanted the "Ray" sound at the beginning.

Reagan says Ree-gan to me. But, again, I'm in Canada. I bet anyone in the US would pronounce Reagan "properly".

I like all of the middle names. :)

  • I personally don't like the name Reagan and all its spellings but if I DID have to use it I would spell is Regan because I went to school with a Regan Marie and that just looks normal to me.

My fiance is Canadian and I've noticed that he says "aye" words like "eh", like Bag is "beg" the way he says it, totally cute but I think the accents make the difference!!! :D
