On occasion I stop at this particular full service gas station. A few times it had seemed like it cost more than I was expecting, but I would go home, calculate the gallons on the receipt with the price and the math always came out fine. So I thought I was being paranoid or that I really was running on fumes (as I have a tendency to do).
Yesterday, I got gas with a 1/4 of a tank left, so I knew that it would be 10 gallons max. Got my receipt and it was for $42.39, for a >13 gallon charge. I looked back at the pump and it was for $32.39! They've been ripping me off $10 each time I go and charge my card! I called the guy on it, and he hurriedly pulled out a wad of cash from his pocket and threw 10 bucks at me.
I can't prove this as intentional yet with one time caught and previous suspicions, but I'm going to go back a few more times and see if I can catch them. I feel so stupid for never looking back at the actual pump all those times I suspected something was wrong. What a world.

Local News seems to get really excited/involved in this type of stuff. We have a local "Six on Your Side" segment every week in my hometown where they deal with stuff like this.
I would contact your local tv news with your history of suspected overcharging and the details of this specific incident to see if they are interested in pursing it for an investigative journalism/consumer report story.
At least in my town, Full Service gas usually costs $0.10 to $0.15 more a gallon. They don't need a $10 surcharge on top of that. BTW, what they are doing is theft and credit card fraud.
I was gonna say call the local news. Ours loves to bust people!
I wasn't sure what to do. I was thinking that if I could catch them again that I would call the town police, but I like the idea of a local news undercover story.
DH has been to this gas station a bunch too, and has never had a problem. They probably have specific target types that they think would never catch on. The b@stards.
Wow. This makes me steaming mad--especially that they would target a female likely thinking that you wouldn't know any better.
I would most definitely call a news station. They will be all over that.
I get gas at a large chain gas station and I always check the price on the pump before I go in to pay because I'm always afraid they'll press the wrong button and charge me for someone else's gas. Now I have another reason to check.
