What a nice surprise!!

Ok, so I totally planned on using my one and only frozen embryo for this last IVF cycle because of how expensive the first 2 cycles were. I went into my RE's office today for a follow-up to my negative Beta 2 weeks ago and explained that an FET is our only option at this point. He felt so bad that he said, "I'll tell you what, let me work out something for you. Don't stress about the cost, I'm going to help out with that. Also, are you out of pocket with meds??" I said, "Yes, I have no insurance coverage for IVF meds at all." He then said, " I will work on that too." I was in shock! What a blessing this is to us. He also said that if we don't get a lot of eggs like last time, we could use our frozen one with the fresh. I'm sooooo thankful!!

    I love your Dr! I need him right now as we are scraping the $$ together for IVF#2 or a DE cycle....

    Multiple ectopics, 2 failed IVF's
    IVF #1: Did not get to ET, embies all failed PGD (major chromosomal defects)
    IVF #2: We have 2 chromosomally perfect embies as a result of PGD (Boy/Girl) 1 failed the thaw (Girl) Transferred 1, yet ended as a c/p
    Thought it was the end of our TTC Journey 6/20/2012
    SHOCK BFP 9/28/2012: IT'S A BOY! and everything is normal !!!!!!

    Little A born 38w 2d on 05/23/13 and is a true miracle for this IF Vet!

    4/28/11 IUI#1 = BFP!(5/25), EDD 2/2/12 - m/c 5w3d

    IVF#1 - 1 blast = BFP!! (12/30), EDD 9/9/12, confirmed c/p 4w2d

    Wow, that is a great surprise!  Your RE sounds like a very generous person who actually cares about his patients.

    IVF #2: 11/12 cycle postponed due to Sandy and then cancelled due to elevated E2.

    IVF #3.0: 3/2014. BCP & Microdose Lupron.  Cycle cancelled due to poor response.

    That is great!  I actually tried to subtly hint to our RE that we will be 100% OOP for our next cycle to see if there was a savings program or anything and she said no.  I also even tried the desperate angle that the RE charges the insurance the same amount I would be charged BUT the insurance pays only about 3/4 of that while I will pay all of it!
    Books read in 2011: 85 (so far) Books read in 2010: 80 Me: 33 H: 35 We have never attempted to conceive on our own due to H having a genetic disease that causes tumors. The chance of our children inheriting the disease is 50/50. After consulting with H's oncologist and an RE specializing in PGD we decided to pursue IVF with PGD. IVF#1 ER - 11/1 - 25R; 18M; 14F with ICSI; ET - 11/6 only 1 morula to transfer due to 13 embryos being affected by the disease. 11/17 - Beta = BFN PAIF/SAIF always welcome

    Isn't that awesome!   I had a similar experience with our RE and MH and I were seriously blown away.  Having an RE help out like this is a HUGE blessing!!  So happy for you :)

    (we will probably be using at least our highest quality frozen embie along with a fresh one this cycle, but we will see how it goes!)
