For those of you that have made frozen green beans, after you cook them, do you just throw them in the food processor until they come out like a puree? I am trying to figure out texture for my 5 mos. old. TIA
I don't know if this happened to you Sally but when I did mine, I had the "Strings" or the little vines from the beans in the puree and I didn't notice this until after I had frozen my batch [ ] so I had to strain the green beans after defrosting each cube.
I just steamed and pureed in the mini-food processor we have until they were very smooth. I didn't end up with any strings or really any chunks left over... it was a pretty smooth puree. Pesto is probably a good comparison. I will say though, I am not crazy about the way they thaw out... runny and lumpy and have to be "worked" to even look edible. Don't know how to fix that one.
Looks like I'm the only one, but DD just eats green beans. No pureeing.
Same here. I've actually never pureed any of the food that I've cooked for him, I just dice most things up. But he loves to hold on to the whole green beans and bite off little pieces.

Same here I use a food processor and I use a strainer to get all the string, chunks out. I thicken them up with a tiny bit of oatmeal.
