GTKY: How did you and DH/SO meet?

Me and DH met at a bar, which is funny because neither one of us are the bar-hopping types. We were both on vacation at the time in my hometown, which was very cool.

Interesting enough, two hours before we met, I told one of my girlfriends that I was perfectly happy being single and didn't want to be anyone's girlfriend. Guess God had other plans...hah!

My DH went to UCLA for school, and was randomly assigned as my brother's best friend's roommate. He decided he loved Southern CA and spent summers here with my brother's friend and therefore my brother, so I met him when I was 15 (he's 4 years older.) A few years later we got to hang out a lot more when he and my brother lived together and we both liked each other for years. Finally, my senior year of college we found out that we felt the same way about each other and the rest is history, we actually started dating while he still lived with my brother... that was awkward. Hehe.

We worked at the same pharmacy. He was my shift supervisor. We grew up together since 4/5th grade, but didn't meet until 2nd semester of my senior year at work. I had the biggest crush on him, but he was off and on involved with a very manipulating girl so it took him awhile to finally see me.

We're boring. We met in the 5th grade. Then I randomly started going to the church he went to when we we're 13. I started chasing him at the age of 16 then we were on and off until we were 19. We finally started being a "normal" couple then. Got married way too young, but we are meant to be, that's for sure.

My DH was 22 when he was introduce to me by my best friend. She shot pool weith him and he asked her if she had any single friends. She calle dme that night and asked if I would meet him. I was leary sincce he was so young but he tried for a bit and I finally agreed to go out on a date with him. I was 32 and a single mom he was so young but the sweetest person I have ever met and I know we are 10 years apart but he is the very best thing to happen to me. Who would have thought that someone 10 years younger than me could be my soul mate!!

We are pretty boring. I moved down to Miami from NYC for school and met DH through mutual friends. He was persistent when it came to having me as his gf and the rest is history..... :-)

I met my hubs when we went to see my brother graduate from Basic Training. My brother had written about his friend (not battle buddy, but they were in the bunks next to each other) who was Navajo and had never read Tony Hillerman (all of my family are big readers). I was sorta seeing someone at that time, so when I met him, I thought "wow...oh well, I'm not available". He hung out with us during Family Day, and then we saw him again right after Graduation. He then tried calling my house right before Christmas to talk to my brother, and I answered. We started talking not long after that.

I found out later, my brother never liked to talk about me to him. Hubs would ask about my family, and my brother would go over everyone, but when he got to me, he would just say I was engaged (hadnt been for over a year) and he didnt need to worry about me. I dont know why...it's weird. When I found out I was pregnant with DS, hubs called and told my brother that "he had knocked his sister up" (hubs knocked my brothers sister up...confusing?). My brother was weirded out...lol...but then he laughed.

I grew up in a popular vacation area in the panhandle of Florida. I was still in college and I had brought my room mates home for a couple of days to go to the beach.

My husband's grandparents live there 8 months out of the year and come back to KY during the summer. Since his grandparent's condo was empty, DH brought a big group of his guy friends down to go to the beach.

I would have NEVER been out at a bar on a normal Tuesday night (and niether would he!), but we he was on vacation and I was entertaining friends. We all just ended up at the same place at the same time. Our two groups were literally the only people in the place and we all just ended up mingling and dancing together. I had a strict "no tourist boys" policy, but these guys were really gentlemen and they were a lot of fun to be around because they were goofy and silly just like us. We didn't go home together or anything (totally not that kind of girl), but we ended up running into each other on the beach the next day. We just had a lot of fun hanging out with them and decided to go out as a big group again that night.

DH and I hit it off as friends, but nothing more than that. We exchanged numbers and we kept in touch over the phone for the next two months or so. He planned to come in and surprise his grandma for her birthday and wanted to see me while he was there. My parents, his grandparents, and us all went to dinner the first night that he got in town and it really just seemed right. We did the long distance thing until I graduated and moved to Kentucky and the rest is history!

He is perfect and I love him sooo much. My parents and my brother never really liked any of my boyfriends, but they are obsessed with Jeff. It was truly just meant to be!

Each of us happened to be friends of an old friend back in high school and didn't know it until his junior yr and my senior yr and we've been together ever since!

My boss actually set us up. I had just broken up with my boyfriend who I had been with for over 2 years. I wasn't really looking for anyone but agreed to go on a blind date with him. I didn't think it would go anywhere. But what I didn't know was he was the most wonderful man I had ever met. One date turned into me moving in with him...and then six months later he asked me to marry him. A year later we got married. Best thing I ever did.

DH and I met online - I was a college freshman and he was going to be attending the same college that fall. He searched for people online who attended the college and sent messages to a few asking questions about the campus. I was the only person who responded. That was almost 12 years ago. We talked all summer online and he even came up and visited. It because official when he moved up for school.
