Who needs kick counts with this crazy baby!

I have to go to weekly NSTs now because of the gestational diabetes and my doc said that in between visits, I should do kick counts.  Nothing crazy - he actually said just a couple of movements within a 20 minute period is fine.  The important part is just making sure he is moving every day.  Well, this baby of mine is crazy active!  I don't even have to remember to do kick counts he is moving so much.  He's having his own little party in there. I swear that today he is moving more than he is not moving.  If this is any sign as to what kind of baby he is going to be on the outside, I'm in trouble!  Smile

Can't believe it is only +/- 5 weeks until I get to meet him!

  • congrats on your 35/35 and your active baby!  Our baby is very active too...seems people are shocked when I tell them that. ...everyone says at this point child should be so active since he's so big!

  • Same here!  I remember worrying about less movement around 30 weeks with both of my daughters.  This time, I told my doctor that I have no idea when the baby sleeps.  Even when I get up to pee (4+ times) in the middle of the night, she's having a dance party in there.  I'm really going to miss feeling her move all the time, but I can't wait to meet this silly girl. :)

  • I have a very active LO, too. Sometimes I see posts where people are worried they haven't felt their LO for a while, and all I have to do is reach down and push on the little spot next to my belly button- and he kicks! It's nice to know he's staying busy in there.

  • Yup, this little guy is also very active. I remember the first time I tried doing a kick count (a few wks ago) I counted 10 movements in about 3mins and after similar numbers, decided it wasn't necessary. I always make sure he is still moving around in there though. Even during his "quiet times" I still get a fair number of bumps.

  • I have a card to keep track of my kick counts every day, but I have definitely slacked during the holidays!  She's such a little wiggler in there, it seems okay that I can't find the time to sit down and relax to do it.  I definitely expected movement to be less, but am finding she has increased in movement in the past week or 2.

  • I've got an active one too!  When my doctor initially explained kick counts she said to do it while your not doing anything else (watching TV, etc.) because then people sometimes miss kicks and freak out when they don't get enough.    Yeah- I don't have that problem.  I generally get my 10 within 10 minutes of deciding to count and I'm always doing something else at the same time.
