After talking with my dr, we're just going to use condoms. I may look into the Mirena, but thought I should look into cost with my insurance. My dr said that because it's (usually) expensive, it's not cost-effective if you don't have it in for at least 2 years, and I don't think we want to wait that long to start trying.

In all seriousness, condoms. I don't love them, but I hate hormonal BC even more and an IUD (paraguard) freaks me out. So, DH will have to don a glove if he wants some love

With our first I did a mini-pill while bf and then back to my normal bcp after I was done. I will be doing the same thing this time-while we are done having kids, I am not comfortable with an iud and bcp has always been recommended for me due to a family history of ovarian cancer.
Condoms, we are planning on starting to ttc our second in about 6 months, so I don't see the point in starting any other form of bc.
Diagnosed with Anti little c antibodies. DS1 7.11.11 - Anaemia and Jaundice. 10 days in the NICU, 1 exchange transfusion and 4 blood transfusions. DS2 29.8.13 - Anaemia 7 days in the NICU and 1 exchange transfusion. Both are now happy and healthy.
DH is having a vasectomy on Friday. We are done. Four kids is the perfect number for us.
I have had the Mirena after my previous two babies, and loved it. Other than minor cramping early on, it was fine, and I never had to think about it. I got pregnant on the mini pill while exclusively BFing my oldest (never missed a pill and took it at the same time everyday), so my doctor and I decided Mirena was the best option for me...until now! No more babies.
My sister looked into the copper IUD, but her doctor told her it can cause heavier periods, and she already has extremely heavy periods, so she opted for the Mirena instead. That is the only thing I've really heard about it.

I will be going back on the pill, but a low hormone one since I am nursing. We are planning to wait until LO is 9-12 months to begin trying for #3, and since I've never had issues with the pill, I'm comfortable sticking with it.
I'm planning on getting mirena but does anyone know if you can get it while breast feeding? We don't want anymore but I hate the permanence of 'getting fixed' just in case we decide to try for a girl one day.

I will probably go back on the patch, worked great for me before so I will probably just go back to that in addition to condoms until 2 months of it in my system.
