Did you quit your Metformin cold turkey?

in Pregnant after IF
Just curious if you were weened off of it or they just had you stop taking it? My dr just said to stop at 13 weeks. I've been on it for two years and it worries me that I might get sick or something if I do just quit taking it. I just wanted to see what you ladies were told to do and if you had any side effects? TIA

    It was making my m/s worse, so they cut me down from 1000mg to 500mg from week 8-12, and then I stopped completely.

    ETA: I didn't have any s/e from stopping the metformin. I actually felt somewhat better without it.

    Started TTC 12/2008 | dx PCOS 5/2009
    6 failed clomid/femara/TI cycles, 1 failed clomid/ovidrel/IUI cycle
    Successful Cycle: 5/12/11 - 1000mg Metformin + 100mg Clomid(late response) + TI = BFP

    2/13/12 - We proudly welcomed our daughter, Hadley Teresa!

    I weaned off it.  Went from 2000mg to 1500 to 1000 to 500 and was off in in 2 weeks.  I just dropped 500mg every 4 days or so.  I was on it for over a year.  I was off by 13-14 weeks.

    Yep :-( but it's "modified" for now so I can still do light housework and one trip outta the house a day. I have my weekly appointment tomorrow so hopeful all is well. Thanks for asking. Are you gonna find out what your having at your 20week scan?

     We sure are! I can't wait! I have a gut feeling its a boy, I have been calling him a him since we found out. I'm glad to hear you can at least leave the house once a day, it's gotta be tough, but well worth it ;) I'm on here pretty much everyday if you need to chat :o)
