Who else is exhausted?

I'm sitting here at my desk ready to fall asleep!  These 10 hour work days are killing me, and I'm going to work up until the very end.  I can't imagine four more weeks of this.  Ladies, how do you do it?!?

Re: Who else is exhausted?

  • I am!  And don't ask me how I do it because I am giving serious consideration to taking leave beforehand (was until this week adamant that I would work until delivery) but I'm a zombie.  Just hoping that I don't have to go the full 40+ at this point

  • All of the time! I was planning on working up until the end too but am seriously considering pulling the plug on work in 2 more weeks. It is more of an emotional struggle than anything else!

  • I'm about ready to fall asleep at my desk as well, and I'm not really motivated to do any actual work.  I needed a Christmas break, but since the holidays were on the weekend this year, it didn't work out that way.

  • I was just sitting at my desk thinking the same thing... I just watch the clock!  My brain is completely checked out. I'm ready to have this baby already.

  • I'm definitely more tired, but not to the point that I could fall asleep at my desk.  I only have 2 1/2 more weeks of work and I fully intend to stick it out no matter how tired I feel.  I would love to work right up until delivery but with the kind of work that I do, I can't afford to go into labor at work or have to find someone to cover for me at the last minute.  I am jealous of those that have that opportunity!  Best of luck to everyone sticking it out, hopefully your exhaustion will ease up a little!

  • I'm the same way and not sure how I am doing it either.  I know I am not nearly as productive as I used to be.  Focus is gone, motivation checked out a long time ago and I am seriously considering taking leave in another week.

Don't be jealous...it seems like the ideal until your forced to decide between tormenting yourself by dragging your a** into work for the last few weeks or the guilt of lessening your time home with LO PP.  I hate the idea of leaving work early but I'm reaching a wall quickl;y

  • Yep, I'm exhausted too!  I'm a teacher and my EDD is 2 days before we go back to school from winter break.  I'm *really* hoping LO comes by then, as the thought of going back to work at 40w2d just sounds miserable.  Last week was so hard that I can't imagine going back.

  • I started my maternity leave when I was nearly 38 weeks.  It was the best decision for me.  Since then I just relax, rest, eat well, and exercise.  Working was killing me!  For example, I was up from 2:00 AM - 5:00 AM with BH.  Having to get up at 8:30 and not getting home until 6:30 would have been really hard on me.  Instead, I slept until 10:30 AM and I just got up from another nap a few minutes ago.

  • Me too!  I go back to work on Tuesday and I am dreading it.  My thought is that the baby is going to go 'WTH is this?  And then kick it into gear and show up early."

    A girl can hope right?

Hallelujah, it's a miracle, I have children AND a signature!

  • I am exhausted all the time!! The baby already keeps me from sleeping. People think I am crazy when I say that I am exhausted and ready to have the baby. Of course I know I won't get great sleep but at least I will get to hold the baby when all is said and done! I work with kids that have autism and it makes it difficult because I am mentally checked out as well!! We are almost there ladies!!!
