Our Christmas reveal to our families (with video)

We revealed the pregnancy to our families on Christmas Day. As you can see in the video, we opted to wrap a couple of large boxes up as Christmas presents, and stuff the inside with helium balloons with a copy of one of the sonograms attached to the strings. 

Our first reveal was to my IL's, since we had Christmas brunch with them. This is the first grandchild for DH's parents, and MIL especially has been really, really wanting a grandchild for years. Also present were BIL and BIL's long term G/F.

Later that day we went to my mom's for dinner (DH's family came with us) with my mom's side of the family. I brought the box out right after we had done our White Elephant gift exchange. While my mom already has three grandchildren, I think this one is special for her because I'm her oldest child, and her only daughter. In the video, she tosses the balloons to my Aunt (her sister) at one point. I keep playing that scene over in my head and cracking up.

So, all in all, it went really well! Everyone is excited and happy for us, and loved the way we chose to announce. I wouldn't have changed a thing!
