We are having a great holiday break around these parts. The kids are in camp at our gym this week and are coming home utterly exhausted (which makes bed time a cinch.) Plus, since camp doesn't start until 8am and traffic is a breeze, we can all sleep till 7am! They are enjoying playing with their new toys and the break from school (though we are making them practice their reading skills!)
I LOVE online shoppping. I did 99% of our holiday shopping online. I get most stuff through Amazon since we have Amazon Prime (free shipping and shows up at our house in 2 days.) I also get a lot of clothes from Lands End since they are great sales and are good quality.
Jen is feeling pretty good. Sleeping is starting to get uncomfortable for both of us - her b/c of the belly, me b/c her mountains of pillows don't leave much room for me. We are focusing on keeping her calories up so she can keep gaining weight. I'm reading Baby Bargains and trying to put together a list since we'll be buying all of our must-have-for-newborns baby stuff in the course of 2-3 weeks right after we move.
I probably shop at Amazon the most, but I love Sockdreams and Etsy. I did most of our Christmas shopping on Etsy last year, but this year I waited too long. I did end up getting my dad a great lamp on Etsy that fortunately came just in time.
The little girls had their first visit with mom today, it went very well. There were no tears from the girls and mom was cooperative and quiet.
Owl is adjusting and has taken to cuddling with me on the couch. Apple is doing great, gaining weight and smiling nonstop, she makes my heart happy. A's attitude has improved anad she is such a big help with the girls. Iz seems to be trying to improve her listening, it's spotty at best but we are woring on it.
J and I need to work on our relationship, I've become mom and forgot how to be a wife.
QOTD: I don't really shop online but when I do it's somewhere like Etsy.
E is enjoying playing with her new toys and is very much looking forward to choosing fish for our new aquarium, hopefully tomorrow night! She is still recovering from the busy weekend, last night she fell asleep while I was reading her bedtime stories and I had to semi-wake her so she'd know I was leaving her room.
I don't do a lot of online shopping but amazon is my fave.
All seems to be well on this front. DW and the Kiddos are faring better after their bout with pneumonia. DW still has a terrible cough, and often has to leave the room as not to disturb sleeping children.
Our holiday went well and the Kiddos seem like old pros when it comes to flying. However, once again, we had a woman in front of us that said DS was kicking her chair...ARGH! I was to overly-conscious about it from that point and kept telling DS not to touch the chair. Stressful for me, but far worse, stressful for him because he did not understand.
C went home at lunch to rearrange the Kiddos room, The Kiddos did not sleep in bed with her on the trip, so we are going to see if the same technique works at home. Keep your fingers crossed for us! If it works I will be doing a GREAT BIG HAPPY DANCE!
Butterfly wrote something that has me thinking..."I've become mom and forgot how to be a wife" ... I wonder how many of us ever felt this way or felt this way about our partners?
QOTD: Amazon by far won the battle this year, but JC Penney's is probably my favorite shopping place for clothes.
TTC- We are halfway thru our TWW. Tested two days ago and the trigger is now out of her system. So we will probably just hang in there until the blood test on the 5th. It has been easier waiting so far because of the holiday being so busy but the inlwas are gone and my family holiday is over so we are trying to keep ourselves busy with other activities to pass the time. Loving the time off work but makes for a slow two weeks.
QOTD- By far my favorite online shopping is Amazon. It is way to easy, well priced. and they give me a ton in gift cards when I trade in my text books.
We had three BFN in the Fall of 2011. It is back on to some baby making come June. Swim little fellas, SWIM!!!!
Things here are good. C will be 6 weeks old on Friday and is growing so fast. I am loving that he is more alert now and he just started cooing. He's doing well holding his head up and gets so interested in his surroundings. Right now he is just fascinated with the ceiling fan. We packed away his newborn clothes today even though his 0-3 months stuff is still too big. The newborn was just getting too short for his legs. I miss being pregnant but I'm amazed at this little guy everyday. Now if Jenn and I can only work out our issues that have come up since he was born. *sigh*
We've decided to try and tackle Daisy's sleeping issues - again. We are 2 days pacifier free and that is going fairly well. However the reduce-amount-of-overnight-eating thing is not going well. omg. She is pissed. How the h3ll am i supposed to do this with 2 other children in the house? Lets just say we were all exhausted this morning...
QOTD: I do most of my shopping online - love to find good deals, stack coupon codes, ect. amazon probably gets most of my business but i also love etsy, zulilly, old navy, and kohls.
Now if Jenn and I can only work out our issues that have come up since he was born. *sigh*
((hugs)) its a huge adjustment and can add so much stress to an already new/insecure/tough time. Have you considered couples counseling?
Ditto. Those first few months were bad -actually it was a rough year. There are times that I think we stayed together because neither of us wanted to be a single parent to newborn twins. Get help for your PPD. I also had it, but didn't recognize it as such until I was out of it. Best of luck.

Yay for flying like pros. Boo for grumpy lady. BabyT*T was also a champion flier....now if only I could say the same for my wife

Best of luck--take time for each other. John Gottman has a great book (very research based) targeted towards new parents. I can't remember the name right now, but I like his work.
L and I had a real date night yesterday! We had a livingsocial deal for a "nicer" restaurant that was expiring, so we got a real live babysitter. Well, our friend, but it felt like a real babysitter. I remember parents leaving bottles for the baby and snacks for me--and here I did the same. A little trippy.
But, we had a great time. And didn't talk about the kid(s) too much.
Punkin is sleeping a little longer stretches--up to 3 1/2 to 4 hours at a time at night! Yay!
Shopping online? I love totsy (let me know if you want an invite--you and I both get $15 if you buy something) and craigslist (does that count for online?). Gap, Loft, REI!
