2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.
It's beautiful!!! I LOVE it!! Tell FMIL to f*ck off, it's YOUR wedding.

All AL Always Welcome
I am a HUGE advocate of boundaries, as I have had WAY too many older women in my life try to shove right past all of them. If you don't set them, you will be caught up in trying to appease her for the ROYL!!!

♥♡♥ PAL/PGAL welcome♥♡♥I will third that bolded part! The dress looks lovely. Especially if YOU love it!
I think it is very pretty (skip the necklace).
Have you tried it on yet?
I went in with ideas of what I wanted but changed my mind when I got to trying them all on (it was so much fun).
Also, it is YOUR dress. The right one is the right one, it will make you feel like a princess. Once you get "set" on a dress, there isnt really any mind changing.
*so if you havent went to try them on, only try ones on in your price range.

♥♡♥ PAL/PGAL welcome♥♡♥It's a beautiful dress. In terms of choosing a dress, it's your day and 100% your decision. Speaking from experience though, I wanted a tank style dress, without much beading, embellishment and I wanted white, not ivory before I actually went dress shopping. My MOH encouraged me to try on a ton of different styles. I was adamant that I not have a strapless gown, but she had me try a few on anyway
Well, it turns out that tank style, looked absolutely horrible on me (not as bad as halter style- hilarious, but pretty bad) and that white was a bad colour for my skin tone. I ended up getting an ivory strapless, princess ballgown with tons of embellishments and beading that looked absolutely horrible on the hanger, but was made for me. My advice is to go in with some idea of what you like, but be open minded and try on lots of different styles. When I was shopping it was just my MOH and I (all my family is hours away from me). When I came out of the changeroom with my dress on, all the other moms in the shop were saying how beautiful I looked and when I saw myself in the mirror, I cried. When you see your dress, you will know. Happy shopping.
THIS! It's your wedding and you are the one wearing the dress! :-) LOVE it btw!

I absolutely love that dress. I almost bought that exact one for my wedding. The only reason I didn't was that I couldn't get the sash in the color I wanted in the "short" size (I'm only 5'1).
And I agree, it's your dress, and nobody else's. So if you love it, go for it!
I got my dress from the bargain basement of the Bridal shop, It was a 2006 dress and was the sample (I got married in 08). It fit me perfect off the rack, only required hemming and cost a whopping $250 (regular retail was $1250). I spent almost the same on my headpiece and veil! It was a steal and the only reason it was there when I was shopping was because it was hideous on the hanger!
Edit to correct typo
This! If YOU love the dress than GO FOR IT. Your wedding day should be all about you and your FH.
I agree with going with a rough idea but being open to other options. I didn't think I wanted a train or a lot of embellishments and I had a dress I liked in mind but then found myself in a little bridal boutique that I'd never even heard of before and ended up falling in love with an Alfred Angelo dress with a semi-cathedral length train, and lots of gorgeous beading on the bodice, dress bottom and train. Best part was it fit like a glove off the rack and was only $99 (normally 2K plus) Why so cheap? Some of the beading work was loose on the bodice and they couldn't seem to sell it. DH's grandmother used to make dresses, and so a $4.99 container of beads and some grandma magic later it was perfect!
Best buy of the wedding right there!
This!! Its beautiful!
At the end of the day, it is your dress! Choose what you love.
The first time out, my MIL didn't like my dress in the store. She had to go home and think about it. When looking at pictures, she says she is glad I didn't listen to her b/c she loves my dress now.
It is a beautiful, timeless dress. Follow your heart and she will come around. Even if she doesn't, I doubt she will say anything the day of.

This is a good point. If she is just trying to control what you wear to control what you wear, I say eff that. It's your wedding day, which, if you do it right, you only get to do once. So you should feel beautiful and confidant.
On the other hand, Petra has a point. If her objection is because of where you are going to be getting married such as in a church, where bare shoulders could become an issue, maybe compromise and wear a shawl or a bolero type jacket on top.
That being said, I still say get the dress you want. GL!
