Hello Moms of Multiples!
A dear friend of mine is pregnant with twins and I was wondering if there was anything specific that you could recommend as a shower present? Something that only a special twin mom might need? I have my own little guy, so I know baby basics.
Also, does anyone have a recommendation for fun onesie ideas? I've seen the Dr. Suess "thing 1" and thing 2" ones, but was looking for any other fun suggestions!
Thanks so much!
Re: Gift Question
girls, boys, one of each? : ) Is there a certain dollar amount that you are wanting to stay around?
If she's BFing, I would recommend a twin BFing pillow. That thing is the reason I was able to BF for as long as I did.
Fun onesie ideas?....Well I've seen ones that have said "Buy one..." on one and "Get one free" on the other.
Not sure on sexes yet, she is about 15/16 weeks now. And I'm thinking under $100.
Onesie ideas--these might be too cynical for most--but I don't take it too seriously:
If the babies are going to be born in the coming days (before the new year) my husband wanted onesies that say "Daddy's Little Tax Deduction"
and, since we were on the Pill and "Plan B" when I got pregnant, we're making onesies that say "Plan B" and Plan C"
Also, I've seen "Wombmates" onsesies that were adorable.
Good luck! Very thoughtful of you to make something unique.
Oops, correction:
"Plan C" and "Plan D"
Stuff4multiples.com has some neat things... My DH is a computer geek and I've been tempted to get the "CTRL-C" and "CTR-V" onesies, but my girls are fraternal. I also like the "Born with my BFF" rompers.
The only thing I can think of in the $100 price range that I use on a regular basis *and love* is my Double Snap N Go stroller, but that may be too specific for her needs depending on what brand infant carriers she's going to use.
If she doesn't have one yet, I second the twin nursing pillow. I have some onsies that say Ctl+C and Ctl+V which is kindof cute, but I also like the ones that I've seen that say "I'm the cute one" or "he's the evil twin" or things like that
I also would have appreciated someone getting me several plain onesies in preemie and NB sizes- just to have a few of each on hand in case. And I love the coordinating blankets that I got from one lady- the same kind but in different colors so they each have their own.
Or you could start a safety kit for her with two of the things you don't really want to share- like rectal thermometers and nasal aspirators.
We got onsies that say Twin Babies on them, and one has the A in babies highlights and the other the second B. They're cute.
For a practical gift, double snap and go, gift cards for take out, gift card for a housekeeper...
