4 wks PP - "skin" pain on lower abd

I had an emergency section on 11/27 due to pre-eclampsia. Since about 2 wks PP, I have had very sensitive skin on my lower abdomen. Like, even my pants rubbing against it hurts. Anyone else experience this? I mentioned it to my OB at my 2 week appt, and she said its just the inflammatory process healing the incision and it will go away eventually.

  • Yes. I had that with all 3 of my sections. I'm 4 week PP and my skin is sensitive to the touch sometimes. Especially when I have been doing too much. It does go away. It just takes time.

  • Same here, I thought it was just me because of the excess skin I now have. Anything rubbing causes discomfort below the belly button

  • Me too...the skin is numb, yet sore and puffy a bit still.

  • I had my unplanned c section on dec 23 and while I was in the hospital I told them that on my right side the skin was sore. My doc told me it was from them stretching out my muscles and and ligaments from being pulled apart, and it will go back to normal, it will just take time. LO was on the right side and this is why that side hurts.  Hope this answers your question!
