lower abdominal pressure

in 2nd Trimester

FTM here ...  

For the last week or so now I have had what feels like CONSTANT pressure in my lower abdomin. I am 16 + weeks right now. It feels almost like I need to pee .. even when I have just gone. 

Normal feeling? Is "pressure" normal as the baby grows and uterus shifts upwards?

    Hi Tia! I'm just a little over 14 weeks myself and also a FTM. I've been feeling the same pressure too and lots of cramping in my lower stomach. This morning I had a lot of pressure, like bad gas pain (sorry if that's TMI). Everything I have read said its round ligament pain and completely normal, but I am glad that I have an appointment next week so I can ask!

    I am a second time mom and I just said to DH that I was feeling pressure and that I don't remember feeling this type of pressure last time until farther along.  I chalked it up to being more aware.  Last time I had cramping and my OB said it was RLP.

    Hi Its totally normal...your baby is growing and moving and pushing on your bladder, and sometimes its just gas...but don't worry also if you start to feel out of breath...that's totally normal too!

    You could either be feeling Round Ligament Pain or the baby. The baby will sit in a certain spot & the further along you get, you will feel him or her there.

    Btw, TIA means Thanks in Advance! lol took me a while to figure it out myself!! lol
    People use alot of Abbreviations for things on here & it take a while to figure them out!! LOL

    Figured that is what I was feeling .. happy to know that is normal :) Not so happy how uncomfortable it is this early on .. but hey , as long as baby is ok I can deal with anything :)

    LOL...thank you for sharing that one...that was one I hadn't seen before! I think I have most of them down, but I'm still learning!

    I could've sworn I had a UTI from months 2-4, but my OB checked me at every appt and said I was fine!! Lots of pressure for me too--such a weird sensation! I was sitting down tonight and felt my baby kick my bladder for the first time...that's an even weirder feeling!!
    First came love, then came marriage - Oct 31, 09
    Then came a miscarriage March '11
    Then came a baby in the baby carriage May 16, 12

    Waiting on our second little peanut!
