Do/did you BF in front of family or IL's or did you excuse yourself into another room? I'm just curious. I tried to bf DD. I only lasted about two months. I remember being frustrated being in another room FOREVER trying to bf her so I wouldn't "offend" anyone. I was just thinking about what I will do this time. I would love to bf.

I BF and it just depends on the situation. Sometimes *I* need a break during family gatherings, and other times I want to chat. I have a hooter hider, and use it to cover myself. If anyone has issues with me BFing my girls they can quite simply BITE ME!

I always excused myself and went to a different room. I tandem fed, so it was not so easy to just cover up and BF while around people. I mean I had to take my shirt off and everything so there was no way I could do that in front of others. If out in public or at a friend's house or something, I would just bring expressed BM and some bottles with me and then pump when I got home. Although there were a couple of times I forgot the bottles, so I ended up just having to feed one at a time and I just covered up - went off to the side but not in a different room. Kudos to you for tandem feeding. I can do it if push comes to shove, but I find it quite uncomfortable and cumbersome. I prefer to do them one at a time.

I bf in front of anyone and everyone. At my house or the homes of friends I will tandem feed in front of people, otherwise I just feed one at a time while I'm out. I don't use a cover but I'm discreet. If people don't want to watch they don't have to stare at me

I've never fed in front of FIL because he hasn't been around but I did with MIL, she even would come pet the babies heads sometimes while they were eating, cute!

With DS I would in front of people with a nursing cover unless it was really crowded, not sure how that will work with two.

I would only tandem feed in front of my mom or my sister because there was no way to do it discreetly. If I didn't want to leave the room to tandem feed I would individually feed them in front of anyone, because that I could do discreetly no problem.

I BF both of my singletons in front of anyone; I used a nursing cover in front of most people but used my discretion; such as if I was in front of another mom who had a nursing infant or had nursed her children I was less likely to cover. I am not sure how it is going to go with tandem feeding, I anticipate it will be much harder to stay covered since it was so hard with just one sometimes!

I do out openly in front of my family members but I would feel uncomfortable doing it in front of the ILs, but we don't see them all that often anyway. It's not that I care about offending someone, I'm just modest and don't really want them seeing my breasts. We went to the ILs for Xmas and I was stuck in another room feeding them while the presents were being opened. Still better than having to mess with bottles and pumping while traveling!

The first couple of weeks I wouldn't do it in front of anyone other than my mother, sister, and DH. It was difficult for me to get the hang of and the girls had a hard time also. The first few weeks I couldn't tandem feed. By week 6 that's all we did.

Once tandem feeding was our only way, I would do it in front of people, but I was selective about who it was. If I was at DH's family's house with extended family, I'd go in a separate room with the door closed and my SIL would come with me to keep me company. If it was his immediate family, I would do it in the living room which opened into the family room so I could still participate, but I also wasn't smack dab in the middle of everything.

Around my family I did it smack dab in the middle of everything. I was very comfortable.

FWIW, I found that on the rare times that I nursed one baby at a time (like at a restaurant), I didn't mind doing it in front of more people. But tandem nursing made me feel like a freak show. I will admit, it IS bizarre looking and I don't blame people for gawking to some extent, but it made me uncomfortable.

I always used MBF Twin Nursing pillow and my Bebe Au Lait cover (wider than most nursing covers).

I tandem feed 95% of the time. At first I had to take off my shirt to nurse and wouldn't nurse anywhere but in private. Now I keep a cami tank under my t-shirt and pull up my shirt and then pull down my tank to expose my nursing bra. That way I can keep my tummy covered and use a hooter hider to cover "the girls" while I nurse. I'm sure if someone watches close enough they may get a quick peek when I'm moving the babies around but if they are offended they shouldn't be watching that intently!

I used a nursing cover because I refused to isolate myself for what felt like forever when nursing. But as they have grown and are faster I just take them to another room.

I became very immodest when I started BFing. If I was just feeding one I would nurse around whoever and use a hooter hider. Most of the time at home though I would tandem feed. So If there were men over (FIL, friends etc.) I would usually excuse myself because I couldn't tandem feed and keep covered very well. With women I pretty much let it all hang out. DHs aunts, multiple friends have all now seen my tatas. I felt a little awkward at first but it took so long to BF early on I would have missed out on a lot if I had gone to my room each time. Although as an above poster said, sometimes when company was over I needed a break so retreating to my room to nurse was kind of nice.

on my phone so no caps... i tandem nurse too. i just do it in front of my mom or sister. i sometimes use an udder cover if others are around or just go in another room. in public i have to feed them one at a time.

I didn't BF that long for medical reasons, but ditto this.
