so I gave in to all the hype and bought one... now how do I cook this darn thing?
I was thinking of adding pasta sauce and turkey meatballs... but how do I get the actual squash cooked?

Re: spaghetti squash?
I made it once and the recipe told me to cut it in half, put the cut side face down in a baking dish with about an inch of water. After cooking it for like double the time, I ended up taking it out of the oven and microwaving it. I don't remember specifically how long or anything but it ended up being really good. If I made it again, I'd use the microwave. (I guess google the time because I really don't remember.)
The Blog
Microwave it whole for 5-10 minutes till it's soft. This makes it much easier to cut in half. I didn't microwave it the first time and almost took my finger off while trying to cut it.
Cut it in half and be careful because it will be hot.
Turn the halves upside down (you can also brush the inside with olive oil at this point and salt and pepper) and cook for about an hour.
Once done turn them over (again very hot!) and use a fork to scrape out the inside, it will just string up.
We love them and eat them with spaghetti sauce and meat. LOVE them!
