I just got to work today after being out for the holiday since last Tuesday. In my chair was a little black gift bag and in that gift bag was a gift card for a massage.
I am so super excited. I have NEVER in my 33 years had a massage and can't wait to use it.
I'm off work tomorrow for an ob appointment and was wondering should I go ahead and use it now (I'm 25 weeks) or should I hold out for a while and use it closer to the due date?
I also received one for a spa pedicure and manicure and was thinking use them all in one day as a day of relaxation for just me. With that being said I just got a mani and pedi on the 18th so I'm really not ready to use that one just yet.
Re: Your opinion please:
you have never had one? then i wouldn't want to use it while pg... maternity massages aren't as great as regular ones... though, they are nice for sure.
i'd probably wait until the babies were born and use it for a regular massage one day when someone will watch the kids.
i'd go for the mani/pedi in a few weeks when you need a pedi again.
No, I have never had one. Every year I hint to my hubby that I want one for our anniversary, my birthday, valentines day, christmas, etc. but he's not the "gift card" type so I've never had one. My boss bought it. He said I needed to relax.
Thanks for the advice on waiting till after the babies are born.
My aunt gave me the mani and pedi along with a foot massager and a lumbar support pillow and she told me the same thing. I think it's time to take the hint.
I think it depends if you can get a good maternity massage with that (i've heard of the kind where there's a pillow your belly fits in and then you can lay on your tummy!) or if you just have to lay on your side. i think that would be kinda lame.
either way, i'd wait until you're further along, but talk to the massage therapist first.

Like PP's said, make sure you can get a GOOD maternity massage with the card. The places that use a belly pillow so you can lay face down are awesome! When they have you lay on your side it just isn't as good. I'd call them and find out.
Though, at the end of the day, any massage is nice for a multiple-carrying mama so go ahead and indulge now if you are so excited!
