Trying to Get Pregnant

OPK's WWYD

Would you continue using OPK's after FF gave you CH's?  I got CH's today (O'd Friday) and while my OPK did seem to get a little darker around wed and thurs, I never got a clear positive so I am guessing I just missed my surge....but given FF's tendency to move CH's, I am a little leery of stopping.  What would you do?

Re: OPK's WWYD

  • Hmm why the open circle on 1DPO? Maybe that affected why you got your CHs.  However, it is very possible you missed your surge too.

If you have cheap OPKs (not to be snarky, but it's OPKs, not OPK's - unless the OPKs are possessive) then there is no harm in continuing until you are sure you've got your surge. Of course, you might reconsider if you are using digitals or something more expensive.

Personally, I say OPKs. I end up hating them anyway! :)

    Ugh, I'm usually quite the spelling/grammar nazi....Embarrassed

Good point, I've got 3/4 of a container of Target brand left (ran out of wondfos) and they are only good for 30 days after opening so I might as well use them up.  I forgot those stupid things have such a short time before they expire.

  • I would keep using OPKs.  What time do you usually test?  If you drink too much fluid before testing, it may not be completely accurate.  Also, with most OPKs, you are not supposed to test in the morning.  You are supposed to test around 2-3 p.m.  Hope that helps.  GL.

  • I always used mine until I ran out, regardless if I got clear positives or not. I used the ones that were only good for 30 days too, so I figured I might as well pee on them all and get my money's worth! Haha.
