Alternatives for swaddle weaning...Help..please!!

My LO just turned 5 months. She will not sleep without the swaddle. She's up every 40 minutes. How can I start weaning her without being up all night? Are there any products that I could buy that could help with this as an alternative to a swaddle? Thank you!!!!

What about sleep sacks? Haven't tried mine yet, but thinking of. We have only swaddled waist down since day one and he is breaking out of it every night now. During naps he is fine, but every night he seems to break out at least once.

Anyone go from swaddling to sleep sacks without a huge disruption in sleep?

Yeah I have tried it...didnt work at all..its her hands that still seem like they are waking her.

I actually came to the bump to rave about it when I saw your post. I just got one for my nearly 5 month old son and tried it for the first time last night. He slept through the night and he's only ever done that a handful of times! I haven't swaddled him since he was a newborn, but on their website (and in reviews from other moms) it says it's a great way to transition from swaddling. It's cozy warm and the baby still feels snug. My son fussed when I first put him in it but then all of a sudden he fell asleep and stayed that way all night long! It really is magic Good luck!

Why can't you swaddle her? Is she breaking out of it or do you just not want to swaddle her?

My LO's hands wake him up too but our solution was tummy sleeping. We initially did the tummy because it helped with gas but it also solves the hands/arms waking him up problem.

I also have a woombie where his arms get zipped in. The only way he'll sleep on his back is a super tight swaddle but he's getting too strong and breaks out of the swaddle. If I were still trying to back sleep I'd try the woombie, but I've decided to just let him sleep on his tummy.

My lo was breaking out of his swaddle everynight within an hour or so of going to sleep. On friday I put him in a halo sleep sack and he loved it an his sleeping much better. It keeps him warm and snuggly without keeping his legs together.

I am having the same problem with DD#2. I tried swaddling with one arm out for a week and she did great. Yesterday I finally kept both arms out for naps and bedtime. She did great with her naps, but at 330am last night woke up flailing around. I ended up swaddling her but she slept til 730am! So maybe try swaddling with one arm out to start?
