Waking several times (again)

This entire weekend he's been waking every 1-4hrs, its like we're back to newborn. ...I'm thinking its his teeth, Tylenol doesn't seem to be helping ...guess we'll bump it up to Motrin.

Anyone else going through this?

Re: Waking several times (again)

  • Oh, MEEEEEEEE!  Yeah, I think it's teeth too.  We have also had to switch to ibuprofen, which seems to help.  I've been giving it at bedtime, and then she's fine now.  Well, except for the screeching every few hours, but she does go right back to sleep.  It's weird, she will screech for a minute and go right back to sleep.  shrug.  If she really wakes up, I will go get her but we've had some luck with letting her go for a little bit.  You can tell the difference between the "I need help NOW" cry and just crying.  I, of course, am totally awake for a while.

Awesome, OK yeah, we'll try Motrin for sure.  He goes to bed between 8-8:30 unless he's super tired, and by 10pm-12am he's up crying.  This morning he woke at like 3am, I gave him a bottle and put him back to bed, by 4:30am he was up crying again ...there's just no way he's that hungry ...just no way.  He was in a great mood this morning at least.  Mommy & Daddy are exhausted though ...at least we have coffee!

Yeah, our bedtime is 8, but if she's tired it might be earlier.  With the eating too, you might be dealing with a little growth spurt on top of it.  Yikes!  When we do have to get up with her, it's just a bit of walking around or rocking since she doesn't want the bottle.  Yawn.  Hope the eating mid-evening passes quickly.  Maybe you can add a snack in the afternoon?

I send a ton of snacks to daycare, I have told all of them several times to feed him until HE lets you know he's full.  I keep his little cubby stocked.  today alone I took in string cheese (cut into bite sizes), yogurt, cereal bar, banana, little snackies (puffs, cheerios and goldfish mixed), and he has about 6 types of baby food options they can give him too.  I told them again this morning, make sure to feed him until he's full.

  • I was JUST thinking that we finally had the sleep under control when DS started getting really bad with it. He'll wake sometimes at night (though might not scream...but still is waking up) and he sometimes has days with ZERO naps, plus most days with 45 min or less of total napping. yuck.

  • We're right there with you. Ari wakes a few times a night and will scream and shake his crib until someone (me) gets him.
  • its beyond frustrating that nothing is working so far.  I let him fuss/cry for about 30mins this morning, but he's usually done fussing/crying in about 15mins, so I got up and got him out of bed, he was tired cause he fell asleep on my shoulder in like 5 seconds.

I feel so bad for LO, I wish I could "make him" sleep through the night by releaving what ever the issue is, but not sure what the issue is.

...when he was doing this consistantly it was NBD, but now that he was only waking once a night - its a hard transition back.  Early to bed for me tonight

  • Yep. One of his canines is poking through and I'm thinking the molars are on their way because he's been shoving his fingers in the back of his mouth a lot.
