Upstate NY Babies

Do you have someone in your family/friends...

that CONSTANTLY sugar coats things and makes it seem like their kids NEVER cry or do anything remotely wrong? Everything is perfect and there isn't one ounce of stress to be seen?

I *** hate that.

I'm about to start calling her out on her LIES - like seriously, not only do we know you're lying because your husband tells the truth to people and then you get a totally different viewpoint from her. I don't think she is doing it to be a b!tch or anything...she just wants people to think she is a great mom and her kids are super easy (which they ARE for sure - but when they do something "wrong" like cry...we hear "OMG he never cries"...haha! yeah right, he's a baby! It's ok to admit that he cries!) The whole hiding the negative and over-emphasizing the positive is reallly *** annoying.

Esp when I just felt like crying and/or running away all weekend.

  • That is how everyone else in my family talks about Charlotte - like they always say how she never cries or whines. Well, then I guess she saves it all up for me because I feel like that I what I hear from her for a good majority of our drive time or times when I am making dinner, etc. Then I kind of feel bad, because my parents will say how she didn't whine the whole time she was at their house until I showed up and it is like "Well what the heck am I doing wrong that I am encouraging that?!" I mean, overall she is a good-natured kid and pretty easygoing and does well with big family gatherings even, but that is luck and nothing else, except maybe for the fact that it is something she is kind of used to because I have a big involved family so she has been around it since she was born.

  • I have an acquaintance like that.  She used to be a good friend of mine, but we've drifted apart majorly since having kids and with me moving away.  I still check her blog for that reason - it gives me a good laugh when I'm feeling down.  Sad to say, but seriously, the way she talks about everything is just amusing.  'OMG!  I had a natural childbirth and it didn't hurt at all!'  Yeah, sure...
