MIL vent

Ok I know it is Christmas and all and I should be all peace and love but I just need to vent. So we/Santa got DS his big boy bed quilt for his new bed (which MIL knew about and saw what it looked like). So what does MIL give DS a homemade quilt although small and won't fit his full size bed and a wall hanging that goes with the quilt. Oh both have kites on it. DS nursery is all blue and brown with dogs and his new room is transportation. So it doesn't even go with anything. Also she bought the cars play dough set that I know my Mom told my MIL about at the begining of December and that my Mom bought for DS which he will get tomorrow. Way to steal my thunder with the new bedding and my Mom's with the playdough. On a side note Santa is bringing DS a Buzzlightyear tent...oh and my DH aunt & uncle gave DS the same thing tonight. So apparently two of our Santa gifts are duplicate...sorry just feeling bad about it and bummed since DS is totally into Santa this year.

    Boo for petty behavior!  Sounds like the buzz lightyear tent will need some padding.  Perfect for a kite quilt!

    HA- we went to couples counselling with MIL to work out our crap and came out of it numb from her craziness and the therapist asked us if we knew of any mental problems or deficits she might have.  So I am the first to empathize with an MIL pity party.

    I'm a therapist so I know there are some mental problems involved except no one wants to do anything about it.

    No kidding! However our families are not that creative apparently. He will end up with 3 of the FP construction sets, two Buzz lightyears and 2 copies of Cars 2. My car is already loaded up with returns for tomorrow :)

    I know the feeling!! We told MIL we were getting my daughter the disney princess 30 piece mega blocks... and what does she get her? The 100 piece mega block set.. She likes to one up us on everything.. She does the same thing with my mom and sister too.. Ugh!

    Ugg don't get me started on my MIL. I feel you on the MIL issues. I love that you went to the couples counseling though!

    Gotta love how people steal others' ideas and then you have to handle the returns. Happy Holidays!
