what gifts seemed to be big hits with the kiddos?
S was a trooper with everything she got but was particularily fond of her jack in the box (see siggy) and the shopping cart ("i go shopping cart!") she got. she also got this cute Ernie (Sesame Street) doll that you press the duck on his shirt and he says his name is Ernie and sings his ducky song.
problem about the shopping cart (given my grandpa) is that we have one to give her for her bday in two days!! now we're not sure what to do since we ordered it from the manufacturer directly and her bday is in two days. clearly we have to run out and get something but not sure what... which is kinda why i wanna see what your kiddos liked.
Re: favorite gifts
Yay for the shopping cart.. boo that you now have to look for a PlanB.
C got a hand-me-down tricycle that he loves, but we had to stow it down in the basement now until Spring and he still needs a helmet. Nearly took a header into the coffee table the other day.
He also has a big rocket play tent thingy that he LOVES! Big enough for him to stand up in it. Maybe S would like something like that? They're not all that expensive.

At 6 months old, Stella isn't completely appreciative of Christmas as yet. However, I think it's fair to say that Sophie was a big hit for her...I lost her original Sophie a couple of months ago and at that time it was the only toy she took an interest in so I was a bit miffed at myself. It is like Stella has been reunited with a long lost friend!
I second the Melissa and Doug stackable train. DS had one that is 2 years old, and both kids play with it. He received 2 more this year, and we are keeping the one that was opened, so I don't have to hear any more fights about sharing it.
