OPK timing
good morning ladies!
I am on CD12 and really have no clue when i may O. This is my first month fully charting (started mid month last month). I am wondering when you all start using OPK's? What would you suggest for me since i really have no idea the date to expect. Last month i had O pains and then took a test and it was positive. Thoughts on waiting until the O pain again (assuming i get them again).

If you chart and know your average O date, then I would start testing 3 or 4 days prior since O time can vary with each cycle...
Did your OPKs come with a chart recommending when to start testing? Which ones do you use? How long is your cycle?

The newbie link says that "most ladies test twice a day starting on CD 12" however I have O'd as early as CD 10 before, so I start testing on CD 7 or 8 just to be safe.
And even this month for instance I didn't O super early (I O'd on CD 13) and I got my +OPK's on CD 11 (and it was neg all other days) so if I'd have started testing on CD 12 I'd have missed the surge then, too.

I have the clear blue easy digital ones right now (only because my husband accidentally bought them instead of a pregnancy test last month!) I need to figure out which ones to order.
According to FF my cycle last month was 31 days but i only started charting mid month so i'm not sure how they really know.
According to the chart in another reply i should probably start using them tomorrow.

This was my 1st month charting, So i started testing Super early because i wanted to make sure i caught it.. and I'm glad i did! I (think) I O'd on like CD 11 - SO.. I'm really glad I didn't wait.
I bought like 30 tests from Amazon for SUPER cheap- So i dont even mind goin through them like crazy.

Just disregard the last 18 million posts! thanks!FF probably calculated your cycle length according to your last lutheal phase. Let's say you ovulated on cycle day 17 and 14 days later you started a new cycle, that would give you a 31 day cycle. Once you keep charting more cycles, FF will have a better idea about them.
I usually have 31 day cycles and I start testing around cycle day 12-13 but I have the cheap Wondfos. I have also started testing when I've noticed CM-watery or egg white. If according to the chart you are supposed to start testing tomorrow, I would...
Try Wondfo's. Some women on here use those and have had good luck with them. I just ordered a pack yesterday with 25 opk and 10 hpt for $8.88 on amazon. Then if I think the opk is positive I will back it up with a digi if needed.
