Im definately gojng to consult a doc on tis but I wanted to get others insig too.
My 2 1/2 yr old says tummy hurts atleast once a day for the past several weeks. We really noticed after he potty trained and thougt at first it was how he was telling us he needed to go, but now it doesnt seem connected. He isnt constipated, goes daily. He is not a good eater, always says hes hungry but doesnt eat much or doesnt want what is being offered. Anyone have experience wit daily tummy aches?
Re: my tummy hurts daily
Could he have heard it somewhere and is just repeating it? Basil heard "My tummy feels funny" on Caillou, and she says it pretty much every day.
Hope he is feeling okay and just being silly!
Also, if I have a headache(or really anything it wrong) and I say "My head hurts" she walks around for a week telling everyone her head hurts. Haha!
Can hurt to ask the doc though.
chronic belly aches are often acid related and something like Prevacid can help a lot. Children who don't want to eat much often have acid related disorders, too (reflux, etc)... so i'd talk to the doc - or just give him prevacid (it's OTC in the 15mg does, you can open the capsule and sprinkle on some applesauce... i used to sell prevacid to docs, so I can tell you that this works fine and is approved for over 1yo).
if he feels better after a few days you know it's acid related.... if not- then it's something else.
