Please recommend a tablet?

I was playing with a friends iPad, but another friend said not to get that one because of it not supporting flash (have no clue what this is). What do you/family have/use?

We have an ipad. It is awesome and I highly recommend it. There are lots of great educational apps for my DD. Also works great as a portable player for movies when we need it.

DD uses an iPod Touch and it's awesome too. There are tons of free/cheap apps that are perfect for her that she loves, and we have her movies/shows on it and will put music and pictures on it for her too.

Thanks girls! What apps do you have/use for it? I was going to mainly use it for the internet (pinterest & facebook), sounds like there's so much more to do with it!

I love my iPad and so does DD. She loves Tozzle and Chuggington along with some apps for letters, numbers and flashcards. I don't have a problem with it not having flash. I use it for facebook, pinterest, email, music, reading books and magazines (can buy magazines to read on it or if you have a subscription they will let you read them on it). DH wanted flash and ended up getting the Sony tablet which runs on android. It is nice but I like my iPad much better.

We love our IPad! We almost didn't get one b/c of the flash issue but I asked a guy at the apple store and he mentioned that the browser that comes on the IPad doesn't support flash but that you can download a new browser called Skyfire and it supports flash. I believe it is a $5 app. Just thought I would share since I'm obviously not the only one who didn't know this.

We have a Kindle Fire (for me; great for books, videos and simple internet browsing) and an HP touchpad (for DH; good for browsing the internet). I've used an iPad and it's too heavy for my tastes. Plus I'm not willing to pay the Apple premium.
