Complicated Toys for 2 yr old

Tess got a Vtech V.Reader and I hate it!

Does anyone else's child have it?  Am I the only one that finds it difficult to use, especially the website to download "free" books?

  • Claire just got it.  I haven't tried to download any of the free books but one of the books "Santa" bought for it doesn't work for some reason.  Otherwise, she enjoyed listening to books and playing games but we've only played with a few so far.  Can't imagine her using the keyboard though.

  • ugh, I''m glad this was posted.  Reed got one and we tried to get it working before we drove to Geneva and the cartridge book (toy story) that he got with it didn't seem to work.  We didn't spend much time playing with it, but weren't sure if there was something wrong with the reader itself or the book.  He got it from MIL and I am thinking we are going to have to return it unless we figure something easy out.  It seems like it should just work when you insert the card, but it wasn't recognizing it.  We haven't even tried downloading.

  • Claire has 2 books that load right up and her Elmo book won't load. They should just pop right up on the screen once you put the new book in.

  • Oh no!  Evan got a Leapfrog Leap Pad and I am leaving to M to set it up with the USB cable, etc... :)

  • Leap frog products are much more user friendly than Vtech.
