bpa free dishes

so it just occured to me that Addie's small bowls and plates are probably not BPA free. And we always put them in the dishwasher, even sometimes the microwave. I threw them out this morning, but she has trouble feeding herself out of most other bowls. I need something with low sides, she is not one to accept help eating. Plates she can use regular ones, no worry.

Any suggestions?

Re: bpa free dishes

  • I *think* most colored plastic bowls are bpa free. ?Bpa is used to make plastic clear. ?
  • Loading the player...
  • Plates and cups made of melamine are supposed to be ok - check out Amazon and search for melamine.

And, the BPA plastics can be colored.

It really is so complicated - good luck.

    ?

    very good to know!?

  • you can still use BPA bowls for things that are cold if you wash them by hand. that may or may not help.

we use melamine. you can't nuke them but you can wash them in the dishwasher. the ones we have are crocodile creek (and perhaps i now know what to look at for addie's birthday gift).

I don't usually nuke them, but I can say I'll handwash with the best of intentions and then forget later. Melamine may be the way to go! Thanks for all your help ladies. And I saw those crocodile creek online, they're really cute!
