When did your LO turn head down?

My LO has been transverse since our first u/s (have had quite a few for various reasons) and has been in every u/s since.  I know most don't stay transverse but I also know that if she does it means a c-section which I would like to avoid if possible.

I'm only at 33w so I'm not too worried yet but still...

Re: When did your LO turn head down?

  • I think my LO might have turned yesterday, for about a month or more my LO has been transverse and really low, which was painful. It was hard to walk and the lower part of my bump was soooo stretched and tender to touch, and buldging where LO's head (maybe butt) was.

Then yesterday she was moving alot and suddenly my buldged lower part of my bump was soft and squishy, now I can feel her up in my ribs and down low but not as heavy down low as before. My bump looks more like an egg now instead of a basketball.

I must say this postion is much more comfortable for me :) until she drops at least!

  • My first was head down pretty much the whole time, but this LO is transverse too. Just wanted to say we are in the same boat! I have a bicornuate uterus, so I'm hoping it doesn't prohibit her from turning if she can. My doc can't do a version =(. I'm preparing my brain for a c-section but really hoping she turns herself down. Good luck. Check out spinningbabies.com for some tips to turn her. I have been doing them.

  • With both my pregnancies, the baby was head-down by the time he was big enough that we could determine his position, and never flipped back. This baby has been head-down for several weeks already.

  • I just found out last week that mine is head down. I am not sure how long it has been, but I am presuming since at least week 25.

  • LO has been head down since my 20 weeks a/s, but I havent had and u/s since then and he does not sit still for a minute, so I'm not fully confident that hes remained in the right position. I get a recheck at the end of Jan to be sure-- GL!!!

  • Mine flipped head-down around 23-24wks and has stayed that way ever since, which relieves me a lot (I was breech!).

  • I haven't been officially told whether or not LO has turned, but I feel like she has.  Since about week 24 I had heart burn really bad and had a hard time breathing.  Then at about 29 weeks she was doing some crazy stuff one night and then the next morning my stomach felt different.  She didn't feel like she has in my throat anymore.  Now I feel her hiccup way low and I think I feel her legs up in my ribs sometimes.  The heartburn is gone though and so is the problems getting a full breath.

  • He was transverse at my 25 week u/s, but moved head down by my 29 week u/s and was still that way at my 33 week u/s (I get them every 4 weeks because of GD).

  • Mine was the same way, always transverse, and around 29 weeks I got impatient waiting for him to turn so I did the forward leaning inversions at www.spinningbabies.com.  Two or three days of doing them for about 30 seconds and he flipped head down and stayed there.
  • Rayleigh is head down already (yay!!). No idea when it acutally happened but I have heard it can happen really late so don't worry.
  • My LO turned about three weeks ago. And they confirmed at my last appointment that he/she is head down ;)

  • My LO was transverse until just a couple of days ago. I wouldn't worry quite yet!

  • Mine just turned at about 31/32 weeks.  Find a chiropractor that does the Webster Technique.  My midwife recommended it.  I went ONCE and a few days later, baby turned.
  • LO turned around 31 weeks according to my OB, but of course I hadn't seen her in 3 weeks so it could've been anytime around then!

  • Not really sure. At 29 weeks I had to have an ultrasound because we were in a car accident and he was already head down. I think he's been head down for at least a month because I've had lots of pressure.

  • Some time between week 27 and 30.  The apt I had yesterday had him facing up so the midwife I saw recommended some exercises to get him to turn on his side so that labor is easier.
