Upstate NY Babies

So it begins

Here I sit before 5am eating 1 Cherrio at a time and sipping chocolate milk, wide awake and feeling pretty sick. Bittersweet as I am thrilled to be so full of pregnancy symptoms, yet really wanted to enjoy the yumminess of the holidays this weekend!

Blah! Must be another boy (yay) making Mommy just as sick as the big brother did! =)

Merry Christmas Ladies!

On a side note.....ease my mind on spotting. ONLY first thing in the a.m. after using the bathroom (TMI, BM) I get a tiny swipe of brownish/orange. Nurse said all normal but you know how it is! When should this stop?

Re: So it begins

  • Oh, so sorry about the nauseous....hopefully it is short term, like less than 24 hours :)!

Spotting normal, but still normal to be freaked about about it, as that is what we women do, especially when it comes to our LOs :).  I think that mine lasted a few days to a week.

Merry Christmas S, what a wonderful gift this year for you and your family!

  • Sorry about the nausea. A blessing and s curse, I guess. Hopefully it will just be an early morning thing, and you'll feel much better later.
  • I feel you on being awake and nauseous. Ugh. I spotted at 5, 6, and 9 weeks with C. And had 4 days of spotting with this pregnancy at 7 weeks.

Merry Cristmas to you as well!

  • Nausea stinks. I was nauseous last Christmas with T, it was so hard to keep my pregnancy secret because of it. I barely ate any Christmas food, so I'm doubling down this year.  You can do the same next year!

That amount of spotting sounds totally normal, especially after going to the bathroom. I spotted with R from 5-7 weeks and I spotted and bled with T too.

  • I spotted with both pregnancies so far. Actually the first indicator to me was that I thought I had gotten my period and after a day or so it just stopped (well when it happened with C I was just confused, when it happened the 2nd time, I knew right away). The NP told me that with all the hormones and increased blood flow, I just had "an irritable cervix" and that it wasn't anything that was going to affect the pregnancy, it was just something my body did in response to all the changes.

  • Hey, you know what I was thinking last night - when your sd tells her mom about you being pg, do you think she is going to be like wtf I made him get a V?  haha

Bleeding was the only mutual symptom I had with these 2 pregnancies.  It is totally scary though.  With dd I spotted every single day thru the whole 1st trimester and half way into the 2nd trimester.  With ds, I had 2 big bleeds in the 1st trimester, but no spotting.  On the upside - call monday, maybe it will get you an earlier ultrasound!

  • I had spotting this pregnancy too, for a few days, every time I wiped. I'm sorry you're feeling icky. Every time I would get nauseous I would tell myself "I'd rather be pg and nauseous than not pg and not nauseous."  It got me through! I can't WAIT to hear how your family responds to the news!

And ditto JnK, maybe you could request an earlier ultrasound?

  • Sorry about the nausea-I had it really bad this time-like before I even knew I was pg until 18/19weeks-it was horrible! I guess it'll keep you from gaining a ton of weight from all of the holiday goodies though!
  • Ugghh so sorry you are sick! I feel for you! I was even more sick this time with Callie than with T. It lasted ALL day long pretty much if I wasn't sleeping I felt super sick! Hang in there! Hope you are feeling better soon!

  • No experience with the spotting, but I totally feel your pain with the m/s.  I have been so incredibly sick since Thanksgiving day.  I finally got started on Zofran last week and was dangerously close to paying the ER a visit over the weekend (the thought of Christmas in the ER was the only thing that kept me away).

I hope you feel better soon.
