How to switch formulas?

We received a good number of samples of formula when I was expecting. We got Similac Sensitive, Gerber Good Start (2 large cans), Enfamil Newborn, and regular Similac. I breastfeed but occasionally supplement when LO is going through growth spurts and I am not enough for him. We started with the Similac Sensitive but now that it has been open for more than a month, its time to discard the leftovers. Since I occasionally supplement, I need to switch to another NEW sample container for when I do supplement. LO only gets formula maybe 1 time in a 3-4 day span. Since he doesn't get it very much can I just switch over to a different formula right away? How do I go about this?

**I am aware of the issues going on with Enfamil formula.  I also know about the packets of formula you can buy for individual mixes. I plan to get these later but want to use my samples first. Which should I start first?

Re: How to switch formulas?

  • i would still stick to the same formula. they have such sensitive little tummies. but maybe talk to your pediatrician and see what he/she says. i started out supplementing occasionally but stuck with the same brand of formula since that's what the pedi told me to do. you can always donate the samples if you feel bad about wasting them.
