Special Birth Gift for DH?

I've been trying to think of some ideas of a keepsake for my husband when our child is born in a few weeks. I would love to get something ahead of LO being born and give it to him at the hospital. I've seriously spent so much time trying to figure out X-mas gifts that I put this off for too long...and now I don't know what to do!

We are having a boy. Dad is really into sports, tattoos, gaming, running, etc. He's going to be a SAHD, so I really want to figure out something special for him. What are you doing? Any ideas for me?

Hey I think this sounds like a nice idea, but we aren't doing this at all nor did I do it w/my first I just had never heard of it before and my DH wouldn't really care for a gift.

I guess some ideas might be some small baby item engraved or personalized?

On Ebay I found a onesie from my husband's favorite hockey team and had them put our last name on the back. I think any type of onesie that has to do with one of his hobbies would be a good gift...lots to find on Etsy or cafepress too.

When we had DS, I gave DH the Willow Tree New Dad figurine. This time he is getting a gift card for 18 holes for 2 with a cart at a new golf course nearby. He has been working so hard, both at work to allow me to stay home, and at home to get things ready for the baby and to help me, that I want him to be sure to take some time for himself Smile

How about a gift card to a tattoo shop so he can have LO's name, birthdate and maybe hand/foot print or other design.

My hubby and I both have sea turtle tattoos--his is a tribal design mine's a Hawaiian petroglyph. His is on his shoulder blade and we're going to add a turtle for me (similar to the tatt I have) and then a smaller turtle for LO w/ a plumeria flower in it's shell.

How about a onesie that says "future gamer"? I saw an embrodiery design last night for one and I'm sure you could find something like that on Etsy.

I'm buying a polo and having it monogrammed to say, "Liam's Daddy" for him to wear on the day of the birth. I also purchased a book named, I can't wait to meet my Daddy. It's actually written from the babies point of view now while we are carrying them, but I plan on writing something in the back of it from Liam from the perspective of having finally just met his Daddy. The book was $13 and the polo will depend what I fall in love with, but can't cost that much. : )

Well my gift was less sentimental and more practical- a tablet he'd been eyeing. I am not sure he'd enjoy (right word?) a sentimental gift, but I have still been toying with the idea.

My husband wears a ring on his right ring finger, too. So I bought him a titanium ring with an inscription from our son. He's gonna love it!
