I've been lurking on The Bump for many years, but I just started posting. I consider myself somewhat AP as I babywear ALOT, breastfead, and bedshare. So, I would love some advice form you ladies. My almost 3 year old son has always been a good sleeper. When we had another baby (the baby is now 10 months old)) he was still a good sleeper. However, recently the toddler has refused to sleep unless one of us (preferably Daddy) lays down with him. Since I bedshare with the baby, I sleep with him in our bed, and my husband sleeps with the toddler in his bed. I miss my husband! Can we resolve this, or will it work itself out in time?
Re: Toddler sleeping issue
Would it be possible for all of you to sleep together in a family bed? We just recently bought a king sized bed (I'm due in 3 weeks with #2 and our son is 4 1/2.) We knew that we didn't want to have our older son move to his own bed just because a new baby is arriving. (Truth be told, we're in a one bedroom apartment, and son doesn't even have his own room. Or bed....) For us, it just made sense to buy the bigger bed so we could all get sleep together. Granted, I don't sleep next to my hubby, but at least he's in the bed with us. OR...could you move the toddler bed into your bedroom? Hubby could lay with toddler until he falls asleep, and then get into bed with you and baby?
Hugs!
