Any ideas? I want to do something fun with my 3 YO and my 9MO, whether we go somewhere or stay at home...but am out of ideas...HELP! My 3 YO doesn't do well staying up too late, so I want it to be more low key...
Last year we had my good friend and her family (including her toddler) stay over night for a "pj party" everyone including adults had on jammies... I made yummies and goodies and the kids went to bed regular time and the adults had their own little new years! It was was a blast... prob not this year though...I'll be in bed the same time as my toddler.

we do a new years party with my neices and ds each year. We go buy hats, blowers, light sticks, and other fun new years things. We have a parade around the house. We then celebrate the "new year" atabout 8pm. The kids shout happy new year and act crazy. Then it is time for the kids to go to bed.The adults (myself,dh, and my parents) watch a movie until the sctual new year.
Some friends of ours throw a potluck GMT new year's party, so we count down the clock like we're in London. It's usually a bunch of people with their kids - toddlers and elementary school age. We play board games and then do a champagne or sparkling apple juice toast. So we have our toast at 7 PM and we can still manage to get home in time for our son's usual bed time at 8.

A lot of the bowling alleys around here are doing an earlier "family" type party. One is having it from 10-12pm and doing an whole countdown to noon instead of midnight, which I thought was kind of cute.
The other ones seem to be in the early evening, like 5-8. I was thinking about doing something like this with DS.
