They have consignment sales twice a year (spring/fall) and I'll usually buy a whole outfit (shirt & jeans) for $6-10. Right now she's in a 5-6T shirts but 4T pants so the 5T jeans that came with the outfit are ready for next season. I got her a really thick jacket from Marshalls for $20, I haven't seen a thicker jacket then this.

I spend the same as you. Occasionally, we'll buy a dress or outfit that slightly more. I use coupons at Carters and Children's place to help w/ the cost. Also, I have been stocking up on next yr at the end of the season. For example, after x-mas when clothes are greatly discounted I'll buy winter clothes in a size larger for next yr.

That's about what I spend on DS clothes. I normally buy Jumping Bean and the prices are about 5 or 6 dollars for pants and shirts. I think the clothes OS cute for the price and I don't feel bad if DS gets them dirty. He does have some nice clothed. I spend no more than 15 to 20 on something nice.
I buy most of DS's clothes from Old Navy or Gap. I have a credit card there so I get a 30% off discount every couple of months and I try to use that. I guess things end up being between $7-$15 each.
Occasionally I have gone to our local consignment store to buy clothes. They buy your used baby clothes from you and they only accept clothes in great condition.
I usually spend a little less than you do but I shop almost exclusively at consignment sales. As DS gets older I know I'll probably have to buy new as he's in each size longer. I think your list is spot on for shopping for new stuff on sale.

I spend similar or less for casual stuff but I buy ahead and get stuff when it is dirt cheap. I did really well at BRU a few months ago and DD is set for summer. DS didn't get as much b/c the boy stuff was picked over. I tend to spend more on matching or coordinating stuff but I only do that ocassionally.
I never buy full-price. I wait until I can get good clothing (Gymboree usually) for less than $10 per item. And I almost always order online -- more selection, I've found, than in stores.
You are getting some good deals. Where are you shopping? I think I do pretty well, but I always try to stay around 10 or under for each piece.
Generally, I'm buying all new clothes online, which is why I don't do consignment/good will (neither are located near my home). I watch for sales at Children's Place, Old Navy, Target, Kohl's and sometimes Crazy 8.
I've been shopping a year ahead of time so that I can get the best deals. Last winter I got a quite a few things from Old Navy for only $2-3 at the end of winter when DD was still wearing infant sizes!
I will spend about that much or a little less. I shop a lot of consignment sales and clearance. If i can get shirts for $2 a piece i am in heaven or a full outfit for $5. I got him a coat and snowpants for $22 together at a consignment sale.
Yikes. Let's just say I spend way too much. I always shop a year ahead though (July sales for next summer and January sales for next winter). I pretty much buy it all through online boutiques. I am just hoping my next child is a girl as well so I am able to re-use.

This is my justification for buying DD1 so many clothes-I can always reuse for DD2!!!
I recently discovered Children's Orchard (a resale store). At their $5-fill-a-bag sale, we got 11 pieces of clothing for $5 total. I got DD's Christmas dress there for $6.
I buy new clothes at Kohl's and Old Navy, usually on clearance. I can usually find shirts or pants for $3-4.
I spend as little as possible. Sorry DD, you get the basics... She out grows things to fast so we only buy the cheapy stuff from walmart/Target for every day clothing. We also go to the gently used stores for clothing, thats where we get most of her "cute" picture or special event outfits.
This pricing you mention is fairly dead on for us.
I usually buy casual clothes for DS at Old Navy and nicer clothes from the Gap or Gymboree. Unfortunately, with his eczema, we have to watch as some cheaper fabrics irritate his skin. Always on sale though or on promo.
For daycare/casual tops and bottoms, I rarely spend more than $4-8. I do spend a bit more on special occasion dresses and outfits, but she typically only has 2, maybe 3, really nice outfits in each current size. Up until recently, I've been buying ahead, but her growth has become a little unpredictable and so now I'm hesitant to buy stuff in the next size up, since I'm not sure she's going to make it to that size by the next season.
I won't buy anything over $5 unless it's super cute or for a special occasion. I usually shop and consignment sales/shops and my mom is a shopaholic, so a lot of his clothes come from her or are hand-me-downs from my nephew.

most of their clothes are purchased new during clearance sales. I always stock up in larger sizes when I see a good deal, so their wardrobe is all set by the time they reach their size. I get clothes at Target and Children's place. Last year I got tons of nice sweaters at children's place and Target for under for DS $4! He is wearing them this year. I also hit up a Gap clearance with exta 30% off, I got DS several matching thick fleece top and bottoms for $10 for the whole outfit
tops are usually between $2.50 to $4
Pants are around $4 - 6
twice a year there is a consignment sale here..I ususally get a few nice quality coordinated outfits there (top and bottom) for around $6 - 8. (gymboree, gap, etc) .
DD is 19 months but her upcoming summer and winter clothes are set until 3t. I am trying to control myself - 4t is too far away to buy too much
For DS I typically spend about $6-8 on shirts, $15 on pants/jeans. I haven't found many places that sell for much cheaper (except Walmart but I am not a huge fan... although I do get the odd thing there).
As for wardrobe I typically get about 4 shirts, 2 warmer shirts, 3 pants, and 1 or 2 coats (eg rain coat/warm coat and hoodie) per size.
Re: How much do you spend on toddler clothes?
sounds about right to me.
I've started getting stuff from Goodwill too - 1.25/pp or consignment is 2/pp.
Especially for summer when we go through shorts and T-shirts like crazy.
I buy from a second hand store for toddler clothes. Their clothes are listed at no more than $5 per piece (shirts, pants, shorts, jackets, etc).
I do spring for good quality shoes though. Those are the most important article of clothing, IMO.

Me too lol. Everyday clothes I tend to spend a bit less but since I'm a photographer I shoot the girls a lot, esp when I find extra cute clothes : )
It's my one vice, I don't drink, smoke, or do drugs. I buy the girls clothes. lol
