Totally NBR-Help w/dinner set up

So I have a dining room table that has 2 leaves. 10 people fit very comfortably - 4 on each long side, 1 on each end. However, I have 14 people coming.

Option A: We can squish 5 on each long side and 2 on each end. It's not ideal but it could work.

Option B: Add another 6 foot table, take up quite a bit of my living room and have people super spaced out.

I should add - it's my mom's side only and typically we are at my Nanny's tiny house with even more of us and we squish over there.

  • If it will be easy to take down the additional table afterwards while people mill around, I would vote add the extra table. I only say this because I am big on personal space.

But..if everyone is used to being a little squished, I wouldnt add the headache of taking more space up in the living room. If no one is going to complain and pretty much get up after they eat- it might be easier.

I'm not help. lol. I think either way you will be fine.

I talked to my momma dukes and she said to squish instead of taking up extra room. I'll see how bad it looks once I set the table...if need be, we'll throw it up! Thanks...kind of answered my own question on this one.
  • Are you taking into account space for JT's high chair?

He has a little corner set up that isn't at the table but will be right next to my chair...the same way he eats all the time. Thanks for mentioning that...how awful if I would have forgotten him too (which could totally happen with all of this madness :)

At MIL's we always squish around the table! There isn't always a lot of room but the whole family is together. I prefer it that way personally!
