Opinions on bedding sets

DS turned 2 on 11/25. I am trying to settle on a theme for his room because he is graduating to a big boy bed this weekend (full size bed). Although he is a big Sesame Street fan, I ordered the Thomas The Tank Engine set because it was on sale at the time ( 2 days ago). I just got a price adjustment on Sesame Street for the same price( just went on sale today). Anyway, both are now the same price. Right now he is a bigger fan of Sesame Street than Thomas.

Which set do you like better:(I think the Sesame is a little too busy)

Re: Opinions on bedding sets

  • Personally, I'd go with a neutral bedding set but then just accessorize the room with the particular theme he's interested in.  With a boy you could do a navy or red comforter then get pillows, etc. that were in the theme du jour.  My kids went through phases of shows they liked so much I wouldn't have wanted to do their whole room in any one thing in particular.

  • Thing is that if I do a solid color comforter it would show every stain. I hear you on their taste changing, I was not brought up on themes either but neutral sets started at $249.00 just for the comforter and pillow shams. Once I settle on a set I will only be paying for 3 sets of full size sheets, a comforter with matching pillow shams ($178.00) sale ends tomorrow. Should I actually get three sets of sheets or two? I know once he starts potty training I def. need more than one!
  • I have bought Target stuff like this and it does not stand up ....like a pair of sheets - they shrunk up a lot and I wrestled to get the fitted sheet on his infant bed.

This. (But I'm not a fan of character bedding, at all).

  • I guess no one read my response about the neutral bedding. Sigh

I was asking which set was more aesthetically pleasing to the eye, not " should I go with a neutral set?" If you have no opinion on either set then don't answer. I know this can happen when people just glance and comment.
