Seriously.
My days as a pet enthusiast are going down the drain faster than Octomom's titties.
I just heard my cat scratching at something...upon investigation, I find him tearing up the carpet trying to get in the nursery. He literally pulled the carpet up, and now the carpet nails are exposed and the carpets no longer bonded to the carpet pad.
I chased him for a good 5 minutes to assure him a swat on the arse....but he just keeps on going for the door.
Someone's about to end up living on the roof.

Re: My Cat is About to Have His World Rocked
I know how you feel. My dog did something similar today. He walked into the nursery and peed on the carpet and walked out! He is completely housebroken and knows that was wrong. It's wearing on my patience.
My inside cat has an obsession with the 2 doors that stay closed in the house- the one to the garage and the one to the laundry room. He has done major damage to the carpet leading to the garage, so we have phone books, towels, etc. placed there to prevent further damage. It looks ridiculous, but since the garage is off of the basement, no one sees it anyway.
We have an indoor/outdoor cat that adopted us that is trying to find her way back to the street (semi-kidding). DH was out of town a few weeks ago and I waited until the morning of trash pick up to take out the trash. I was in pj's and a warm coat, so I just slipped on my favorite casual shoes to take care of it. When I put the second shoe on, I felt something wet and quickly realized the cat had puked in my shoe- awesome. Last night, that cat was in DH's lap sitting in the living room chair when she suddenly puked again, getting puke all over DH's jeans, the chair and the wood floor. We've asked the vet before, and they don't know why she pukes but this is getting old very quickly.
I'm the owner of two feline fur babies...many problems we experience with cats tend to be behavioral.
Cats like to have a " lay of the land" of their domain. If you have changed a room and put new stuff in there they can sense it. It's better to let them patrol it and surprisingly enough they normally become disinterested afterwards. Same with the crib...it's best to let them sniff it out, etc. and then when baby arrives they won't be paying much attention to it.
My cats have been banished to the basement (its not a creepy cement basement, it has nice tile floors, etc) .......the one started peeing on DH's dirty work clothes (he cuts down trees for a living so they smell like sweaty man, trees and diesel fuel) that he left in a heap on the bathroom floor. They also scratched up the woodwork all over the house.
I feel bad, but at least they have a warm home, good quality food and I do go play with them daily...
It just sucks b/c DH said I NEED to find them a new home or give them to the humane society. I refuse to drop them off at a shelter. We've had them since before we got married. I'm hoping my parents or other family/close friends will take them in. They're good loving cats but DH hates them with a fiery passion...

Isn't there some stuff you can spray on the carpet to disgust the cat? I know people whose cats loved clawing the couch, so they sprayed some stuff on it, and the smell repels the cats. They have to respray every couple weeks, but it appears to work. It's like a little spritz bottle for something like $8 I think? Maybe go to the pet store and check out what they have.
