I have a meeting with a lawyer this evening after work to get the divorce process started. I am nervous only because I don't know what to expect. She sent me paperwork that I have filled out and I have a few questions to ask her too.
Luckily, I am able to get a copy of any important document I need as that is all at my house. STBX left me in charge of keeping records. Yay for me, not so much for him. He still has not asked for any of it.
Ugh. I hate all of this.

The meeting went really well I think. She said that the divorce looks like it would be pretty straight forward with the only issues being what happens in regards to DS.
She assured me that STBX cannot file for spousal support as he had been threatening to do (I didn't think he could but it was nice for the reassurance).
I just need to get the $1500 retainer and $275 filing fee and then I'm going to hire her. Luckily, my mom reminded me that I have several stocks still. She is going to sell them for me and get me the money (they were bought when I was a minor so they are in her name. We never had them transferred over to me) so I can move forward with this.
