I apologize if this has been asked before. Just wondering my son is turning 1 years old on 12/29 (insert tears) and wanted to know at this point how often does your one year old nurse? I know every baby is different.
DD has the same birthday! I am becoming emotional and find myself clinging to her babyhood just like PP said, she nurses frequently if we are home but forgets to when we are out - too busy exploring I guess! So every 3-4 hours guaranteed plus the odd comfort nurse thrown in a few times per day.

On weekdays when I work, DS nurses @ wake-up, once around dinner-time, before bed and then once or twice at night. I also pump twice at work. On weekends he nurses more frequently, including before and after every nap.
We are down to once in the morning, at 4 when I pick him up from daycare, and before bed. He gets sippys of freezer stash milk at daycare or WCM and WCM at dinner in a sippy. I stopped pumping at work this past week too, so I'm going to try to just give sippys over xmas break (I teach, so I'm off for two weeks) when he would have sippys at daycare instead of nursing. I don't want to build my supply back up when I just weaned off the pumping. I feel kinda sad about that though. However, I just got him to sleep without nursing, so that's big plus!
On the weekend when I'm home with him all day, it can be every 2 hours when we're at home, but like others, when we're out, it's probably less, like every 3-4 hours.
He still nurses first thing in the morning, when I drop him off at daycare about 1.5 hours later, takes 14 oz of BM from a cup at daycare, then nurses when I pick him up, when we get home about an hour later, then before bed at 7:30.

OH!! How did you get him to sleep with out nursing!?!?!? We are down to nursing when I get home from work (40% of the time - this is going away too), at bed time, 2-3 times a night and then at 6 am. I pump once during the day at work. I would LOVE to stop pumping at work, but by 5 pm - I feel engorged! I would love if he would just night wean......I want more sleep!!!

We night weaned quite awhile ago. I stopped one nursing and replaced with rocking/cuddling in a nursing position. Then I stopped the other and just pulled him into bed with me w/o nursing. Then we started rocking him back to sleep instead of putting him in our bed and all the sudden he just started STTN on his own! Thank God! For naps, I usually nurse him to sleep, but today I've rocked him both times and he's gone down with only minor fussing. The daycare somehow gets him to sleep everyday by patting his back, but he's not having any of that from me.
Re: How often for 12 month old?
Little Rose is 2 1/2.
