I really wanted to surprise DH with tickets to the SU game on his birthday.  I asked around to see if anyone knew of anyone who had season tickets they wanted to sell, as the only tickets left are super high up seats for like $40 a piece.  Well, one of his co-workers said that one of the other guys they work with is giving me his set of tickets with VIP tent pass.  I have offered several times to the guy in between for me to give him money for them, but he keeps saying all set.  I never like to take anything for free, and these are probably super good tickets to a great game.  wwyd?  The guy giving us the tickets is more than an acquaintance, but we are not super good friends with them.  I feel like I should do something, but I have asked several times and he keeps saying no.  I am getting the tickets on Friday (the game is in 2 weeks).

    Maybe buy him a bottle of wine or other adult beverage he might enjoy.  Otherwise, just a thoughtful thank you note should be enough since you have offered more than once to pay.

    I would send a thank you card and maybe a gift card to a local restaurant if you want. But a thank you card would be sufficient if you have offered to pay and he refused.
