What was one thing about 2011 that makes you smile? Seeing my boys play together
What did you learn in 2011? That we're constantly learning/changing/growing as parents and as a family. That we don't need to do everything the same way with M2 as we did with M1. To stop fighting the fact that we cosleep with our children and accept it :-)
Favorite news story of 2011? Drawing a huge blank
What was one challenge you faced in 2011? Dealing with DH's hip replacement and recovery
BONUS:What are you looking forward to for 2012? Trying to make myself a priority again - exercising, eating right, reading, seeing friends more often...I need to find myself again - I've been lost in the role of "mom" and caregiver for the past 4 years and need to find a balance.
What was one thing about 2011 that makes you smile? Bonding with DH and Rose right after my c-section before our family met her. That hour was so special and important to us.
What did you learn in 2011? Being a mom is a tough but rewarding job. Oh, and don't go to Oklahoma in the middle of a heatwave.
Favorite news story of 2011? The 49ers becoming NFC West Champs!
What was one challenge you faced in 2011? Facing the unexpected and untimely death of my cat Mickey.
BONUS: What are you looking forward to for 2012? I am looking forward to watching Rose learn and grow, hopefully spending more time with DH, and going to Gettysburg in July.

What was one thing about 2011 that makes you smile? After 2 1/2 yrs of looking, I finally became a homeowner!!
What did you learn in 2011? All that hard work WILL pay off
Favorite news story of 2011? 49ers making the NFC West Champs-I have not seen that headline in a looonnng time.
What was one challenge you faced in 2011? Realizing that IVF may be our only chance to have a child.
BONUS:What are you looking forward to for 2012? My niece and nephew will be born some time in February!

The news was way too depressing for me this year. I have to think about this one for a bit.
What was one challenge you faced in 2011?
Gray Cat's death. One day we notice he's lost weight, take him to the vet the next day, the following day we're told he's diabetic and he has a lifetime of insulin shots ahead of him. Little did we know that his lifetime was only 1 more day.

Watching the girls grow up together
What was one thing about 2011 that makes you smile? finding out i was pregnant
What did you learn in 2011? i learned to be patient with my crazy family and not to sweat the small stuff
Favorite news story of 2011? hmmmm it's been pretty grim in the news. i always enjoy happy pet stories.
What was one challenge you faced in 2011? not flipping out on my mother or mil when ut came to be clingy about the pregnancy.

What was one challenge you faced in 2011? coming to terms with my mental illness and dealing with the aftermath of Ellie's traumatic birth.
BONUS:What are you looking forward to for 2012? so much! disneyland for Ellie's bday, figuring out a career path, starting a home search, continuing to watch ellie grow.

What was one thing about 2011 that makes you smile? Watching Elena learn language and having a great sense of humor, she makes us laugh all the time.
What did you learn in 2011? I learned a lot about rewards and punishment. Apparently the research shows that BOTH are detrimental, including praise, to intrinsic motivation.
Favorite news story of 2011? Passing of Obamacare, end of Iraq war.
What was one challenge you faced in 2011? As I posted above, dealing with powerful emotions especially when taking fertility hormones like progesterone.
BONUS:What are you looking forward to for 2012? Starting treatment for infertility and hopefully having a successful result ie, another baby!
ETA: Was it supposed to be something I learned that is more personal? Never underestimate a child, they can do and understand way more than you think.
What was one thing about 2011 that makes you smile? Ryan's first time to the MOMA, which was a rousing success

BONUS:What are you looking forward to for 2012? A Florida vacation to celebrate jointly my mom's and my MIL's 70th birthdays, my husband's 40th, and my SIL's 20th wedding anniversary.
